It is why we didn't appear go after JUCO LT and JUCO LB early and often. If ever there was a time to take advantage of JUCO recruiting, this was it. We only had a few weak spots to fill. Mackey is still a big key, but with the youth we have at tackle and LB, bringing in 1 JUCO guy apiece at those positions would have been huge to aid the transition. <div>
</div><div>I am concerned that we really didn't fill any immediate needs outside of DE with Mackey. </div><div>
</div><div>That said, I will hope that the staff liked what they saw out of Carmon, Clausell, Robinson, Muniz, etc. to feel comfortable about LT and same for Skinner et al for OLB. </div>

feels good about the LB corp, but just wanted CJ. Still loaded up at o-line and d-line, and that will win games just as quickly and high rated skill players. We will be fine regardless of what happens from here on out.

I believe..

Either the staff feels really good about the LB corp or they feel really good about CJ. I think that Singler kid thats popped up from Mobile might be getting CJ's spot.

I remember being really excited about Deonte Skinner when he signed.

JUCO LT's but didn't get the ones that we wanted initially. Trapp has been brought in for depth and to see if he can fight for a starting spot. We tried for Jason Peacock (mid-term enrollee at Ark.) and a few others. I am more concerned about LT than LB.

Losing Sherrod is by far the biggest hole to fill. I feel confident out D will be better in 2011 than it was in 2010. I'm not as confident in our O-Line.

I have to think they have thoughtabout it before Carmon approached the staff and made the decision to make the switch for next year. That makes methink maybe Clausell or Robinson or whoever will play LT in the future is only 1 year away from being good enough to play.If they were concerned about LT next year, I think a JUCO OL that is rated higher than Trapp would be on campus right now. I'm hoping that means they are comfortable with where Carmon is at now.

I think next year is the only year I'm concerned about LT just because when you lose a 1st Team All SEC guy that has started there 4 years, you will obviously not be as good. But if a guy like Clausell orRobinsoncan get some good reps, I trust Hevesy's ability to get him game ready in the SEC.

But let's face it - nobody on here or probably on the staff thought there was ANY chance of losing CJ so that was their man LB recruits. We took some glimpses at Jordan Hunt, but that was about it and he signed mid-term with FIU. I think if we thought we had lost CJ before then maybe we would have taken another look there.

We did look for LT at JUCO, but let's face it, there simply aren't a ton of SEC LT's out in JUCO to begin with. Most we looked out couldn't get out until the summer and then we didn't win the battle for Peacock apparently.

As far the LB's, I just think the staff liked what it saw out of the current group as much as they saw from the JUCO guys they could have recruited.

our target for that position. Trapp has been brought in to balance the OL classes and provide an interior lineman backup. He is not projected to be an OT. My guess with Carman is that they liked their depth at DT and felt that if he could help or win the job at LT or RT then great. I still believe that Lawrence will end up winning the battle for LT and Saulsberry will be the center.
