if you have one or two bad losses, they can be excused, when you have FOUR and then possibly only 18-14 playing a non conference sos of 312, well then you are going to be sweating it out

Here’s the thing… Go look at every teams resume that is currently on the bubble. Everyone has major flaws. Michigan has a lost at home to Central Michigan that is absolutely crushing them.
We’re not going to Dayton with
only 18 wins. We’re going to the NIT
Win Sunday and we’re in; lose and you have a ton of work to do.
a win over Northwestern should put us in..but i would hesitate to call it a stone cold lock
I think we’re in although another dreadful loss in the tourney would cause a lot of handwringing
So some bad losses to power 5 teams out weights four q1 road wins. I guess I’d rather be Utah state and play q2 teams all year and load up. No way to ever have a bad loss.
tourney should be about who you can beat and are you good enough- not “can you lose to anyone”.
the issue is unless we get to 20 there will be some handwringing at 19 so not a good place to be in
conferences like aac and mountain west are judged somewhat different
listen if you blow a 10 point lead to a 1-17/7-20 team with 1:15 left I dont want to hear any argument of why you should be in the tournament
no Pitt doesnt get a pass...for one they are the ACC AQ today still winning in a 3 way tie with Miami and Virginia.
