Here is what I do not get about our basketball team.......

Our guys look so uncomfortable on offense like they are trying to do nuclear physics. If these guys were just screwing around in the Sanderson Center playing a pickup game, they would probably be flying up and down the court, driving to the hoop, bombing threes, and fast breaking like crazy.
WTF is it that confuses them so much about our prehistoric offense? It is almost like we would be better off just turning them loose and saying to hell with Stansbury's "offense". Street ball would be a better alternative.

Agree - run the "motion" offense a lot of teams full of athletes that can't remember a play run. Just turn em loose. Try to put in about 4 plays based on situations and work on a zone offense and the rest of the time just say "go get em"

There's no way that would end up much worse than we see now.

I call comes back to coaching, or lack thereof...

Out played, out-hustled and out-coached

We did not take advantage of the RSS, especially when Marshall was on
the bench. We have to get him the ball on the post. Why can't anyone
make an entry pass to the RSS. Why was the RSS not in the game the last
few minutes when Marshall fouled out. We could have gotten him out
of the game sooner if we could have gotten the ball inside to the RSS. Our offense has to run through the RSS, he must touch the ball.

me why our players stand around so much on offense. She then asked why we never set picks.

The end.

One of the problems with Sidney is that he does not catch the entry pass with two hands. He did this two or three times in the game against EKU. When you have a guy trying to bump you out of the post and knock the ball away, a one handed catch is difficult to do and ends up being a turnover. Again, coaching.

He is still fat and lazy, but damn, if we can just get him the ball he can score or at least get to the free-throw line almost every time he has the ball.

What do we work on in practice??

Doesnt matter the players involved...we play the exact same way. Over the years we have had enough talent and eventual chemistry to beat lesser talented teams but we never seem to beat teams (or barely beat teams) who are "students of the game".

If you swapped coaches from last nights game, I wonder who the victor would have been. I thought Akron looked well coached.

Akron has a good coach. They actually ran some plays. The problem with Stans is he can get those good college players, he just can't coach them once they get here...

2 things: RSS on the block- lazy, when rarely there.
RSS is the only player I have ever seen to cross his legs on the floor during the game. I shouldn't have to go any further.

True. We had one day between games, and it looked like we must've taken the day off. We had no idea how to play against Akron. They actually, seemed to have done a good job game-planning us. Like you said they have over 10 yrs worth of tape to choose from, and they already knew #1 is the laziest *** player they would face, except for two trips a half.
