to the C-USA Championship Game two years in a row. And he won at Rice.
Let's compare him to Derek Dooley.
Graham has been a HC for three years, and Dooley two, so that's why I'm comparing the two, plus the amount of talk given both here and on other MSU boards. Both coach in similar conferences- C-USA for Graham and WAC for Dooley.
OK, Dooley as a HC/AD has gone 12-12 in two years at La Tech, including one losing season at 5-7, and his team is on the bowl bubble. He took over a 3-10 team.
Now Todd Graham took over a 1-10 Rice program and won 7 games the nest year- many of the losses to people like Texas, UCLA, Florida State, and took them to their first bowl since 1961. That was in his first year as a HC and his only year at Rice. He then takes over an 8-5 Tulsa team and then wins 10 games the next year and takes them to the C-USA Championship Game. Now, he has them back in the C-USA Championship Game with another 10 win season, and I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in Memphis this year. THIS is the kind of up and coming coach we need. He has proven that he can win with nothing, and that's pretty close to what we have on offense.
I think he can win 6-7 next year for us next year, and then we'll see what he can do.
