Last week @WVU82 posted details of a bill Congress passed (House) repealing Dodd-Frank. The legislation is designed to undo the massive damage that law has done to community banking and other financial services that are restricting access to capital in this country which retards small business growth that also happens to be the biggest supplier of new jobs.
The Media virtually ignored passage of that bill.
Yesterday, the Senate passed out an important bill reforming the VA, essentially making it easier to fire incompetent employees and hold administrators accountable for not giving our Vets the care they've earned. It accomplishes this in part by making it easier for employees to call these incompetent people out (whistle blowers) without fear of recriminations.
Again the media has essentially been silent about this.
Both of these pieces of legislation, are very important fixing real problems in the country that are more significant in terms of the number of people they will impact than the ongoing "Trump colluded with Russians and obstructed to hide it" daily drama we are bombarded with and still no hard evidence yet to surface. Despite that, the media doggedly pursues its allegations (no one else is making them) in search of a possible scandal to cover up non existent evidence.
Incompetence is not only demonstrating an inability to adequately perform tasks one is hired to do, but also not being able to recognize how to properly perform them. Like calling in an HVAC man to fix your non running a/c unit and he's trying to convince you to have your house rewired!
There have been other important bills passed on environmental legislation, energy reform, health care reform, judicial nominations, and a host of other important initiatives that significantly impact the nation yet the media essentially ignores them preferring in its zeal only to smear Trump.
There is an information crisis in this country. It's not only being fed by blatant bias and corruption in a news media that is more ideologically driven than driven to provide truthful, accurate information... it is also an information crisis being fed by rampant & unmitigated media incompetence.
