I have seen several Ole Miss posters take time to point out that it is not a jab to them. It is. That's why it bothers you.<div>
</div><div>The #HailState endzone is a perfect example of how a forward thinking athletic department operates. This is in direct contrast to the Ole Miss Athletic departments behind the timesapproachthat drives the bear fan base crazy. While it isn't a direct jab it is a glancing blow that indirectly points out how we are ahead when it comes to promoting our school and athletics.</div><div>
</div><div>That's why it bothers Ole Miss fans, that's why we chose to use it for this game and that's why I like it.</div>

I certainly don't think so. And, it doesn't bother me one bit it's on your field, in fact I think it's funny. I'm just waiting for the field to have a Walmart symbol next year.

The reason I don't like it, is that college football isn't NASCAR. It would be just as silly to have www.olemisssports.com on it. Go ahead, paint your field with phone numbers, twitter feeds or whatever. It just feels arena league to me. If it's fantastic marketing, so be it.

My question is, if it's so awesome and forward thinking, why has no other school done it? You can't out-ninja the ninja...

Old school thinking. If you don't follow Stricklin, or any of the coaches on twitter, then you wouldn't understand anyways. And your comment about the"Walmart symbol" makes it very evident that it does in fact bother you.

It's in no way directed at Ole Miss. Why should we care? Yes it's arena league, etc... but that doesn't mean it's not smart. I personally wouldn't want it on our field, but I'm also not a 4* high school football player.

We've made a lot of strides in that regard. Michael Thompson and his group have been on the leading edge of promotions. The problem is, they've been given a crap product to promote, so the promotions haven't had the impact they normally would.

The whole "The Season" format of the coaches show is very much on the leading edge, and I expect it to be copied by many schools, possibly even your own, next year. That's just one example. The gameday survey and a lot of the changes that came with it have all been good, but again the product on the field hasn't allowed for the same level of impact.

Personally, I think the #HAILSTATE thing is probably a poor choice, but I do give credit for the out of the box thinking and at least trying it. If it works, it'll catch on and be the new thing.

Your fan base is so put out with being out marketed bytheirin state rival that you are running your athletic director out of town and Dan Jones is soon to follow. Billboards, the Our State slogan, the term TSUN...all bother the hell out of your fan base because while they are openopportunitiestocriticize the motives and means behind them they get people talking. Just like this endzone paintscheme.<div>
</div><div>Can you name ONE marketingstrategy Ole Miss has used since the "O the Coach" bumper stickers that created as muchdiscussionas any of the mentioned strategies we have used? That coupled with the success of the strategies put in motion by our athletic department is why the upper management of your University is being purged.</div><div>
</div><div>The hashtag endzone is cutting edge and will get the people whodisseminateinformation talking and mentioning Miss State when they otherwise may not. Will it be disliked by some? You know it will. But that doesn't stop aforwardthinking administration from attempting it. Ole Miss fans know that this type of strategy would have never even crossed the mind of its administration thus the frustration. Our administration knows how your fan base feels about being out marketed and used it for the Egg Bowlspecificallyfor that reason.</div>

Both boards (and their sprivals equivalents) take everything way too seriously this week. Also, we have three tigers on the loose in town, so I have bigger problems.

Seriously, a school is closed due to loose tigers.

....doth protest too much, methinks. (Yes, we got some culture about us.)

It's funny to me how many posts and comments have been thrown out there and reported from other Rebels about how this doesn't bother you and why it doesn't bother you and why you are glad Ole Miss didn't do it. I guess on one your famous private boards you all voted on the term "arena league" to describe it. That's pretty good, but Ga Tech is helping screw that up, and I suspect it'll just be a matter of time before others follow suit too. Guess what - arena league doesn't bother me because it comes off as envy from you. Too bad for you.

I can't wait to stomp a third straight mudhole in your "team" on Saturday night. After another blowout next year, we'll come to Starkville in 13 looking for one for the thumb. Will that fit in the end zone? #oneforthethumb

It "bothers" me about as much as seeing a guy in an Insane Clown Posse shirt "bothers" me. It simply amuses me and kind of makes me shake my head.

Forward thinking? A hashtag? Wow, you guys are groundbreaking. You do realize every program on the planet uses Twitter, right?

Why would putting this lame, and yes it is lame, hashtag in our endzone be any different than putting "Go Dogs" in the endzone? It's essentially the same thing. It's the same as saying "Roll Tide", "Hotty Toddy", "War Eagle", etc. The only difference is the connection to twitter. Some people probably think it is clever, some don't. Some Ole Miss fans prob think it's a good marketing move by our school, some probably don't, and probably many more won't even know what the hell the "#" means because they don't use Twitter.<div>
</div><div>To say that it bothers Ole Miss fans and administration because it is reflective of our forward thinking is a complete fabrication on your part. You're grasping for straws here. Tell me, when was the last time you got good and pissed off because another school in the SEC thought of a good marketing strategy? I'll bet never. And if you did, you're an idiot.</div>

and they have better talent than half of the SEC, they justdon'thave a coaching staff that knows how to use them.<div>
</div><div>Reading that take as well as the denials that our #HailState endzoneisn'tundertheirskin has very much so put me in Egg Bowl mode this week. Blindarrogance, denial and a delusional view of reality - calling cards of the Ole Miss fan base.</div><div>
</div><div>Have they decided if they are going to let Gruden accept the HC job yet? Just checking....</div><div>

Turns out there were two panthers inside someone's house, they couldn't get them in their cages. The first reports said 3 tigers were loose in the city.
