Anybody else considering that last year was year zero for Moorehead considering he had none of his own recruits trying to learn his system? This year has been a reset on the talent cycle, which if we're being honest,is going to happen at State. MSU football isn't going to reload every year like Bama. Therefore I'm looking at the situation as this is Joe's first real year.Just my theory, also perhaps a disconnect has occurred as a result of tutorgate which could last for another year or two, which if it were up to me the tutorgate 10 would no longer be enrolled at MSU.

This must be a rebel. We had 4 guys that are potential early entrants to the NFL draft coming into the year: Hill, Dantzler, Gay, Thompson.

We do not have a talent issue.

The consensus opinion is that just about any D 1 head coach who has his team prepared could have beaten Kansas State and Tennessee, especially with KSU having a new coach who has a different system that his players have been running and UT which is mired in the deepest pit of misery in its football history. There is sufficient talent on this team if it was prepared properly could have beaten those two teams and played competitively with Auburn.

Pretty obvious that Mullen-type players don't do well under Moorhead. It also makes sense that he needs to rebuild to suit his system.

My thing is, he is recruiting the exact same type of players that Mullen recruited. What will change in 4 years? The only thing that is different, is that he signed Garrett Shrader, a quarterback recruit that MSU does not usually sign.

I think it's becoming more likely that Moorhead does not know how to handle players from the deep south. I guess we are dumber down here, and Moorhead is levitating above us.

But even weirder....Croom said the the same things, and he's a deep south guy.

So it might be that Croom and Moorhead don't know how to handle players in general, no matter where they are.

1) Not a 17'n black bear. 2) yes there are NFL guys on the team but I'm referring more so to experience than talent, poor choice of words on my behalf. Also offensive leadership (Shrader) in terms of keeping everyone on the same page needs to develop. Injuries and suspensions have really hurt this team. Morehead isn't getting fired this year anyway I don't think.

we only have 3 suspensions in the 2 deep: Autry, Gay, and Murphy. They were available vs UT. And we haven't had any injuries other than Stevens and a couple of guys nicked here and there like Parker. Every team in the country has injuries.

I would actually agree to last year being year 0, if Moorhead, knowing that he had a 1 year starter at QB and world class defense, had not tried to implement his full offense, eliminated so many reads, and kept the aspects that Nick & the team could run efficiently. We would have beat UF, probably UK, and possibly LSU. Then people would have a lot more patience this year, when he is legitimately hindered by QBs (both are hurt) and Tutorgate.

KT was about as highly rated and Mayden was also a 4 star. Mullen left a lot of talent at QB.

If you just watch the games it is obviously that we have NFL talent on the offensive line and defensive line. Its abundantly clear. And as far as all the freshmen we are playing, he just didn't want to go to the trouble of redshirting them

This year has been a complete **** show between our QB situation and suspensions. Moorehead will be here next year. This is fact and no amount of strongly worded message board posts will change this. We start next year with no QB controversy and 2 decent QBs on the roster who have played a full year in his system. Our young defensive lineman will have year of experience under their belt and perhaps more importantly a year in an SEC strength and conditioning program. A lot of things have gone wrong for Moorehead this year that weren't necessarily his fault. He will have 0 excuses next year. I agree that after the Tennessee loss it is very difficult to continue to have faith in Mooredhead, but that doesn't really matter. I am a State fan for better or worse and he gets 1 more year regardless of my opinions on his coaching abilities. Although I have my doubts about whether or not he will turn things around he will have at least one more season to prove us all wrong.

Thankfully he has recruited well and the next coach shouldn't take over a depleted roster unless we start to see transfer portal attrition.

Year Zero? More like Patient Zero. This is where the outbreak started.

Moorhead was given a well tuned sports car last year and put her in the ditch. Even Chris Doering on SEC Radio called him out on that this morning. He's greatly underachieving.

That's accurate Colorado. He won't be fired. Snd I'm more bothered by last year tbh. That was a 10 win team. I know there was transition with a new staff but still. And this year everything fell apart. Lost coaches, great players, suspensions, injuries, this qb fiasco. He needs to do much better tho. I expect 8 wins a year minimum. Dan got me spoiled to winning.
