Herm will be just fine. Bedwell has two dynamic RBs and their Defense is playing lights out. Bedwell does what Bedwell does. Pound the ball and dare teams to stop it. Nigel James would have Paul Robertson, Stephen Mines and Yahkee Johnson numbers if this was a 10 game season. Jeremiah Coney is a damn good back as well. This Herm team is a lot like Salem (VA Beach) last year. Stout defense and excellent ball control.

I guess we will know more after they play Glenn Allen next week, because Henrico wasn’t much of a game at all(53-0).

I do not want this to be taken the wrong way because I do think Highland Springs is a team no one wants to play this year. That said, their opponents thus far are a combined 0-4... we will know more after the next two weeks when they play Glen Allen and Deep Run.

Ref. the GA game-
Well Danny, I would have said at halftime, we have our answer. But then along came the second half, so I guess we really did get our answer.

I think Highland Springs and Varina are on a collision course for that final game of the season... With Midlothian, Prince George, Deep Run and Hermitage all fighting for 4 spots in the playoffs the loser could be odd man out.

Varina has just Douglas Freeman left before the Springers

Highland Springs has Deep Run and JR Tucker

PG has Dale this week and Midlo has Manchester,so I don’t think PG and Midlo are locks. I DO think Hermitage will finish 6-0.

The Springer D still has not given up a point! The 9 points were given up by the KO return team and a TO inside the 20 by the offense. This D is flat out nasty!! Those 2 DEs and 5 DBs are everywhere it seems!

Herm has only given up 10. Desperation 4th and a mile TD by GA and a field goal at Godwin. A lot of people are wanting to see a Bedwell/Johnson regional championship this year.

I look at it differently as far as the is concerned Hermitage, highland springs and Varina the teams they are playing they're really isn't any competition other than playing each other. Varina had gone 11 quarters unscored upon until deep run scored with 4 minutes left in the game when the second string was given an opportunity to play. Just being honest the competition is not there for those three teams hopefully things will work out and the best four teams are in the playoffs

I don’t know what Henrico looks like but Godwin really isn’t this God awful team that people believe. Put them in Northern VA, Charlottesville’s way or SWVA, they’re a top team, I kid you not. All Varina, HS, and Herm can do is beat the teams they play. Herm has the most impressive resume of the 3 teams so far.

I think I would put Manchester in the top 4 IMO. Also, another one to be on the lookout for on the low is Clover Hill. They have a couple of real deal college ball players and a lot of nice other pieces. Plus two solid QB's. They have size and a pass rush which is nice to have in class 5. Also, Can Prince George make any noise? I think they return a lot from last year. Just someone else to keep in our rear-view as the season progresses.

I thought Hermitage and Varina looked good given they may have only had 10 total practices bc of snow etc. If Hermitage and Varina can get a good passing game going, now we are talking. We know a Bedwell team WILL be able to pound the rock without question as that is a non-negotiable. Looks like Hermitage has plenty of athletes to throw to as well. Just gotta get it going and continually improve as we progress week after week. I'll wait a couple of weeks before I make any sweeping statements. Hermitage success in the air could mean the difference between a team that is solid verses can make a deep run (no pun intended). One thing I was impressed with by both Hermitage and Varina is they both did a good job stopping the run. One thing my Chiefs have seemed to struggle with the last few years.
My son plays QB for Herm and he had a nice game throwing against Godwin. Yes I agree that if Herm can get balanced on the ground and in the air they will be tough. Nigel is the best back in Va I believe as well he’s been doing it all 4 years at Herm I think he has almost 600 yds in 3 games. Going to be a fun 3 weeks for football.

i saw that! Congrats on raising such a quality young man! If that passing game keeps heating up I do believe Herm can compete for a state title. Crazy to think where that program was a few years ago and the discussion we are having right now. Happy to see that Hermitage is back!
