Give me Oklahoma State NOW! I don’t think I’ve ever been more triggered by a Tweet lol.

Apparently, hiring a family member of a recruit—because that’s the only reason Mike got ‘em—is something to be proud of now?

I can’t wait to use this if we get the chance to play them in the coming years. You know Cal is going to see this. I look forward to his response one day...

These guys look like tools with that chess post.

A program coming off of 12 wins that had to resort to hiring a kid's older brother to leverage getting a commitment from his little brother?

Cannen's goofy, "I'm awesome" smile at the end of that clip is the epitome of a delusional response. He had one angle to play in getting Cade, "Hey, brother, I'm your brother. Don't forget." He comes off as a hack who won the genetics lottery.

He played that card the entire time and it's the one reason they came out on top. The thought that they were somehow "playing chess" against Calipari is laughable.

I hope their program burns down by a combination of the FBI and Boynton's own incompetence and that Boynton is working the AU circuit again as the 6th tier coach he really is.

Boynton is a good coach. He took Mitchell Solomon from being terrible to actually being good in one year. Not to mention he just got the NO 2 overall player to commit.

You talk about how he won’t face good competition but who exactly in the SEC is any good aside from you guys? Florida maybe? In the Big 12, Cade will play against Texas Tech who was in the National championship last year, as well as Kansas, and other solid teams like Iowa State, West Virginia, and Baylor.
I'm pretty sure South Carolina and Auburn made a Final Four run the past couple of seasons. I'm also referring to competition in practice, not just in game situations.

Not for long.

Look, Kansas regularly embarrasses you guys. That's probably not gonna stop any time soon. The Big 12 is basically their playground and is probably the reason why they're never good enough to win in March.

And we treat Kansas like they're Louisville.

You're irrelevant until you can actually win a conference championship in that borderline mid-major conference.

Not going to take any shots at any player or fan who posted what they thought was info. In recruiting, focus on who you get and ignore who you don't. It's their lives, and doesn't make them less talented or bad, just means you move on. Now it's easy for me to say as I never had any insight from friend and he's pretty dialed in with things, but never had anything on Cunningham, but he's not upset about this at all. Understands relationship with family and is too excited about what is coming in next year (Clarke/Boston) on the wing added to what program still will have (players returning/added recruits).

The closest thing to a criticism he has of anyone passing UK is general. If you want to be pushed/have development accelerated to prepare to be a Pro, Kentucky is where you go. It's not a recruiting pitch when you state facts. If facts aren't good enough, then this isn't for you and the program moves onto those who want to dive in. Thing about UK guys is they look for players who aren't worried about how they look or what people say--they only care about what is happening and going to happen after putting in work. So you see Tyrone Maxey put on a show coming off the bench, a Johnny Juzang smiling and cheering for teammates when he didn't get minutes I'm sure he/we epxected last night. Why? He knows his time is coming. Kahlil Whitney response to opening night clunker in Exhibition? Get in the gym--showcase talent and then commit to what is needed. Keion Brooks Jr? Shot an airball late? Want to bet he does it again with same look? I say that thing is bottom. He wasn't afraid to take it, and this time of year that is far more important. Now plenty of improve upon/fix but we're talking mentality, not result. The result comes from the investment, not the debut.

That's UK. So when a guy like Whitney gets drafted on what he's going to be and surprises NBA people with his improvement and becomes another UK player media says "I didn't realize......." or "He's a lot better...." and then same media ****ts on UK/Cal/Staff when a recruiting battle is heated or a season is playing out and they lose game(s).

Bigger and better things to come.....and this class is full of those want in and more that will join them. Good luck to Cade and hope all works out for the best.

Not for long.

You realize he's only gonna be there one season, right?

You're fooling yourself if you think this will make a long term difference for your program. He's there only because of his brother, it'll only be for one season, and you'll still have the same mediocre program after that season.

Just like the last time you landed a five star (Marcus Smart) ...didn't do squat to change the program's overall direction.

Well yeah it’s hard to change your direction when Travis Ford is your head coach.

And yes I realize that Cade will only be here a year. But if we keep recruiting at a high level the direction of our program will change. Boynton is a very good recruiter. We were in on Cade long before we hired his brother.

Well we’re in the top schools for Bruce Thompson and it’s looking good for JT Thor as well.

Don't get me wrong, I'm rooting for you guys to overtake Kansas like Duke has with UNC. I personally would love for every other blue blood to go the Indiana route.

But it takes a while to get there.

As mentioned Young and Anthony Edwards are proof of why you go to the biggest stage. Will they make it to the NBA, yes but his brother and him cost himself millions selling out to a piss ant school with substandard coaches.

What do you mean Edwards is proof? He’s just a freshman this year isn’t he?

And why would this make you think that's gonna happen?

Again, the ONLY reason you landed him is because you just hired his brother. Hell, Cade even admitted it in his comments last night. It was NOT because of a real substantive improvement in how you recruit.

Is it your plan now to hire the family of five stars every single year? Otherwise I see no reason to think you won't just go back to the same mediocre way you've always recruited.

Because Boynton is a good recruiter. Yes Cannen definitely helped, but for the millionth time, Boynton has been in on Cade for years. We might not get top 10 players every year but we will at least have many 4 stars in the future and there will be 5 stars too.

"Helped"? LOL. Yeah, right, I think the brother provided plenty more than just a little help. Here is how Cade himself explained why he chose you:

"To be honest, I was this close to picking a different school, but blood is always thicker than water."

That is Cade's own words clearly indicating that his brother was the only real reason he chose OSU. Stop pretending you had any chance if you hadn't just hired his brother. Nobody here is dumb enough to buy that BS.

i don’t think scouts will care about his school choice. Are you forgetting about Markell’s Fultz and Ben Simmons? They were the first overall picks of their drafts and they played for crappy teams. Oklahoma State will not be anywhere near that bad when Cade is here.

Yeah, hes a freshman, but as previously posted he dropped 20+ with a nice stat sheet, and watching ESPN I didnt hear a thing about him. Just like in years past these guys go somewhere to be the man and disappear.

He’s really not getting that much attention lol. At the end of the day it’s still Oklahoma State :grimace:

He NEEDED UK (hat on the table) to even garner this type of hype. We are used to it tho :)
There was no table. You're a grown man, stop crying over an 17-18 year old dude and get a grip.

Um, Florida is a top 10, some might argue top 5, team. Definitely projected to be better than Texas Tech by everybody.

And LSU and Auburn are both ranked higher than Iowa State and West Virginia.
Uh-hmm didn't Auburn make the FF last year too, so the must b a perennial powerhouse too like tech cause they went to FF ,and Florida is better then everybody in the conference, when is the last time Kansas made noise in tourney ,self is a complete choke artist! Just agreeing with your point talking about jim with the Kansas and tech comments, lol

Exactly. The song he had in the background has the lyrics “I rock kentucky blue.” Announces on the day of our biggest game maybe until March and even acts like it might be UK with the wording before he picks OSU. It was a total troll job and he completely used us for publicity. Screw that kid. And it really pisses me off that they had Cal drop everything and fly to Florida a couple weeks ago. Total trash moves every step of the way.

For once, I completely agree Zay. Well said buddy. For a school he came "this" close to choosing, he completely troll us during that video. I'm usually on the other side of things and trying to give kids the benefit of the doubt but even I can see that he was trolling us hard. It's a shame, cause it wasn't needed and only lights a fire for us if we ever meet. Doubt it's in the NCAA tourney though!! Haha!

Hey Cade, hope you negotiated for a multi-year contract for your brother, he will need it.
