I'm glad to see you chimed in. I picked the picture specifically for you and derhntr!

I gave up red meat and pork a couple of months ago, my goal is to stop eating chicken and fish and most dairy product by 01/20. Then I can truly be a hippie liberal.

I do some business w/ some veggies, very liberal, but very nice, they bathe as needed, & only use the rainwater they collect, they get pretty funky, but the wife gets real funky, burn your nose funky.

Do hippie liberals still eat scrambled eggs? I would think they wouldn't actually have any value as (an animal) life to hippie liberals until they hatched. How could eggs not be OK to eat?

/love me some omelets

Although I'm weening off dairy as well. Finally realized it's sort of weird for one species to basically suck the nipples of another species.

/look what you've done to SPS, Croom

If you're eating nothing but wholesome, organic fruits and veggies that are trucked/flown to your corner of the world from far, far away, you're still killing the planet.
(it's somewhere in here)

This might be TMI, but eating red meat and pork always gave me stomach problems, so I did it for a selfish reason to start. I've felt a lot better, more energy etc when I wasn't weighed down with a bunch of cow and pig flesh in my intestines. I pretty much don't eat chicken or fish anymore either, I didn't stop eating chicken mainly for financial reasons because I had about 300 dollars worth of fish and chicken in my freezer when I stopped eating red meat. I don't go to a restaurant and order it, I have basically just eaten what I had. I told myself I would completely stop by 01/20 when we have a new president. Just a date I picked due to significance more than anything

As for scrambled eggs, milk etc., I am really not sure about that. Soy Milk tastes pretty good, and I really dont eat eggs much at all. Most non vegan vegetarians will eat eggs or drink milk or eat cheese. Of course dairy products are terrible for your health in general and a big cause of weight gain, so I will probably try to limit that stuff as much as possible as well.

The goods are here all year round regardless.

And it has a lot more to do with my health than the planet or the environment (for me at least).

I quit drinking straight milk about 2 years ago (except for with cookies) but ice cream and birthday cake still kicks ***.

Are you sure you've thought this all the way through?

societal / lifestyle reasons.....but what is TMI ?

the girl I dated long ago for the summer, when she went 100% vegan, & really seemed to age alot over the following years. I always figured it was the lack of protein from the meat that contributed to that.

the late 60s is directly proportionate to the scarcity of cats in the area during that same time period. I love watching him argue his position to a family member each Christmas who hasn't heard his theory. Actually, I love watching the family member.
