Mississippi State's offensive line combinations (a LOT of guys played and played early) gave up zero sacks and only one QB hurry all night. All the above facts show that it was about as seamless a night offensively as possible at this level.

Anyone out there being critical of any offensive player or stat after Saturday's game is either A) stupid, or B) trying their best to prove to someone, anyone I guess, that they can form sentences.

I hope this doesn't break any rules for brining information from that board. If you guys haven't signed up over at 247 sports yet, I encourage you to do so. Paul does a great job.

I guess I'm stupid and can't form sentences. Nothing from the game proved to me that the line is better. We will see come Saturday when thy face a real defensive front. Again I would love to be proven wrong. I'm sure I am about to be crucified but so be it. that's just the way I feel about it until proven otherwise.

Our OL will get a real test Saturday. AU may be deficient in other areas, but they have a solid DL. We will find out a lot about our OL come Saturday.

Well, last year Carmon false started on the first few plays, and this weekend we had none of that. We will find out this weekend whether or not the o-line is actually better, but not false starting and doing stupid things that put your offense behind schedule is at least encouraging.

BTW, Carmon was released by the Patriots or was it the Ravens...for what it's worth.

How many of you actually watched Clemson play Auburn?

I watched our game and the Auburn/Clemson game at the same time, but I mostly watched Auburn/Clemson. That really great Auburn defensive line gave up 320 rushing yards, and 231 of those were to Ellington for 8.9 yards per carry. Clemson's OL was supposed to be a huge weakness for them and their guards blew Auburn's defensive tackles off the line of scrimmage on 50% of their plays. Auburn's DL looked tired, they looked out of shape, and outside of Lemonier they looked very outmatched by Clemson at the line of scrimmage. Clemson won the battle in the trenches, and it wasn't even close.

Now I'm not saying our OL will do the same, but what I will say is that Auburn's defensive line looked nothing like what they were hyped up to be at the beginning of the season. Lemonier is legit and I think he's gonna make some plays against us, but I just don't see them outmatching us on the line of scrimmage. If we open up the middle of their DL with Jackson, Day, and Tobias like Clemson did with their inside 3 OL, we will roll Auburn. Their back 7 is very average, and they don't have the athleticism to stop our WRs and Marcus Green consistently.

I will also add that Kiehl Frazier may be the worst passer in the SEC. His accuracy is very poor and his OL did him no favors by letting Clemson get in his face most of the night. I think our DL could really disrupt Auburn offensively and they should have a solid game.

Watched it.

And they are soft in the middle of the DL. Ends were good, but they really have a hard time stopping the run. And if we're able to make Auburn beat us in the air with their QB in the pocket, we win. I'm not overly concerned about the game. Could we lose? Absolutely. Do I think we're rightfully favored to win? Resounding "yes". I'd pick State against the spread all day. Auburn has given me nothing to be really fearful of.

I'll say it again. If our defense can contain the **** to the outside and force them to run inside then we'll do fine. Mason and McCaleb are quick as hell but neither will do much between the tackles. And Frasier does not scare me with his arm. Put Banks on Blake all night and cover their TE with the silly name and focus the rest on the running game.

As far as our offense and their defense, we shouldn't have a problem. They may be able to generate a pass rush but they sure as **** can't stop anyone from running. Feed Perkins, Robinson, Griffin and Milton the ball. Rinse. Repeat.

What will be the most overused phrase on the board when the week is over? "vanilla" or "we will get a real test come Saturday"

I'm guilty of using both multiple times already

X "dominated" Y when the starters were in. I saw it for South Carolina, Tennessee, and Alabama just browsing over a few the other night.

Amazing how a team can win 17-14 with Vandy moving the ball and getting stopped by a no-call penalty is domination.

I DVR'd thier game and watched it as well. Both interior lineman on either side of the ball is suspect for them. From G to G and DT to DT they were getting beat up. But don't tell Bogey he STILL seems to think they are "more talented than us." As i've said before, Chizk doesn't have sCam or Gus to bail his *** out this year. All Trooper can do is recruit & wave a damn towel over his head. Chizk was blessed to have a damn good coordinator, good system & argueably the greatest college football player ever to bail him out for the last 4-5yrs. After this year be looking for the guy who was at the airport screaming "we need a leader not a loser!" Not overly concerned about the game either. If we don't beat them by more than 2 scores color me a little surprised.

I think people are also forgetting that we had 330 yards last year against this "vaunted" Auburn D-line. RUSHING. 531 total. And that was with Carmon jumping offsides and Clausell coming in and trying to catch screen passes.

If our defense shows up at all, we should be in good shape to win. Also, I'd be surprised if Dak didn't get lots of reps for the read option, as Ralph had over 100 yds against them last year (wish he'd have had one more...)
