Both teams got beat pretty bad opening week. Game was canceled last year because of covid. Huss seems pretty down so Hibriten should get the W unless they lay an egg.

What happened to Huss? Few years ago they was making crazy noise even took it to Crest pretty good if I remember right
The coach left a couple years back. No discipline, penalties and little desire. It would seem.
Discipline issues have all graduated. I can't speak on the lack of desire. They played a big 4a team that, before last night looked to like a potential conference champion and make some noise in the playoffs. Huss was out numbered by more then double. Still very young, 6 seniors 4 juniors the rest are freshman and sophomores. They ran the ball really well against hickory ridge just shot themselves in the foot and couldn't score. Defensively they couldn't win on third down multiple 3rd and longs. I think it will be alot better of a game then people think.
Cool! Hickory Ridge is tough. We picked up a game during the COVID season with them. SP faired a little better than HH but still lost.
I’m not sure yet with this years Panthers team that you can say they’ll beat anybody on their schedule by as many as we want!!
Hibriten usually has an ebb and flow of talent. Last year was considered a down year and we went 8-4.
Hibriten had a candy schedule for the longest time when they was 2A. Glad to see they’re getting some upgrades in challenges with 3A and a new conference. I’m guessing a 3rd place conf finish behind Watauga and maybe AC and or Freedom.
A lot of it has to do with the upgrade in competition both in the conference and non-conference scheduling… Also feel like the last couple of years we just haven’t had the interior lineman to compete against some of the better teams we have faced… Skill positions haven’t dropped off from previous years much but losing the battle in the trenches causes a lot more havoc with the offense… Also seems like our participation numbers have decreased since the peak in 16-19 years!!
Not that I'm aware of. York Chester had a big lineman that transfered late last year to w.c. Friday but no former kids I know the Jeffries kid at KM was at Huss last year

The skill positions have dropped off. Dramatically! Outside the QB there is no speed. We’re still gonna be ok, we’re gonna compete and we’ll be in most games in our conference. A lot of you guys don’t remember 0-27 over a 3yr period, so I’ll bet the ones who do will take 8-4 and 3rd any day. We’ll be back, lots of young talent coming up!
They had more kids the stuart Cramer and SP on the last adm the state used, the only reason they were being moved is because the state added in how many kids schools had on free and reduced lunch.
Huss had alot of kids leave after McKoy left and before the new coach got there. Covid hurt them alot as well, looks like they are finally getting some numbers back but right now it is all freshman and sophmores.
According to some of your coaches, Huss coaches ran some kids off after the new staff took over from McCoy. If I remember correctly you were one of the guys on here posting about that very thing awhile back.
I agree that Huss should have dropped down to 2A in the last realignment especially when you consider how their AB program impacts their numbers. Huss does have some young talent on the team. This is a very winnable game for Huss and I am thinking that the Huskies will pull this one out. I am not sold on the Huskies overall coaching but time will tell with their staff.
I did say that but from what I was told it wasn't unwarranted. They weren't run off just because they played under mccoy, they were sent home for disciplinary reasons and that was last season. I never heard of them running any kids off during or before the spring season.
That's your personal opinion on coaches. On the field success hasn't been good but you bring team GPA up from low 1 to close to a 3 I'm ok with that. When the number of kids come back up the wins will come.
McCoy put a lot of kids in colleges that included Duke and Yale. One thing I do know is that you aren’t getting into the schools that he sent kids to with a subpar GPA.

Basically you are speaking bad about the man with your last sentence or throwing shade on the low. You are either a coach or someone that is close to the current coaching staff. The GPA of that last senior group McCoy had before he left was pretty damn good, several of those kids earned full ACADEMIC scholarships. McCoy inherited some bs when he came into the job and turned lemons into lemonade. Also McCoy’s last season coached at Huss was the 2019 season I believe. This is season 3 that McCoy hasn’t been at Huss and you guys still throwing shade on that man’s name and blaming him for last year’s team problems lol. It’s shameful and hilarious at the same time
I'm not intending on throwing any shade, I have a nephew that plays and know a few teachers that told me the GPA. I don't think I ever blamed him for anything on the field at all. All I have said about last year's team was the behavior issues have graduated. And I didn't say senior group I said TEAM. There is a difference. His last senior group had a great amount of talent and they did earn scholarships. I’ve defended Huss for years when I felt they were being unfairly attacked or labeled. McCoy did some great things for Huss and his community while he was there. He was actually out amongst the Huss community because he was from that community. I didn’t and don’t like all the politics that came with the coaching change.
On a football note, I think Huss has a real shot this Friday to pull out a big win. Huss will need to play a clean game to get it done. This is an interesting game.
East Lincoln is loaded should be considered a top 10 3A team. Hibriten should win this one easy Huss is rebuilding and not that many players
I was super impressed with East Lincoln. IMO they are a top 3A West team.
Huss by 6. I think Huss will take this game. I think this could be one of those games that reshapes their season
Coach McCoy did a great job at Huss. Alot of times to see how good a job a coach did look at the results before him and after him and see how they compare. In this case, no comparison.
