It’s basically this conspiracy theory that the weather is being controlled and that these severe weather events are a coordinated plan. Also that Hurricane Helene last fall was steered into North Carolina to kill all those people on purpose.
There's a guy I graduated with that splits time between NC and FL. Not a day passes he doesn't post pictures of jet contrails (as if one looks different from another) and says something like "they're out early seeding today" or "at it again" He tracks them once he sees them on flight aware or one of those sights to see which air force base they return to, or says he does anyway

And nothing happened where I lived Despite the local people saying the sky was going to fall. Weather alarmist's kill people because normal people get jaded to people like you screaming "we are all going to fie" every chance they get. Then we learn to ignore people like you when the next Camille/Ivan/Katrina come through.
The most dangerous storms occurred slap dab in the middle of the high risk area. I would say they pretty much hit the bullseye with the forecast. I’m thankful people were aware and warned.

Nothing happened where I live or where my mom lives. But it easily could have. Multiple bad tornadoes within 30-50 miles of both of us. 6 dead, 6 missing, 29 injured, and 21 counties with tornado damage. It was worth keeping a good eye on and being ready to get to a safe place quickly if needed.

I never respected the weather, usually went outside to watch. Until living through a tornado two years ago. That was the first time I’d ever even gotten in a closet. Total destruction missed us by about 100 yards, didn’t miss some of my neighbors and a nearby church. I spent a couple of hours yesterday inspecting the interior of my new storm shelter. I’ve learned respect for the weather, my wife goes bat crap crazy now.

I personally experience this one and I wouldn't wish the same on anyone else but I will tell you even if you're the biggest cynic in the world once you've done one of these up close and personal....you won't forget it. Over 1.75 miles wide EF4....Yazoo City 2010

I'll see your wife and raise you mine. To say she's become "weather aware" over the years would be an understatement. I'm probably too casual so it serves as a nice counterbalance.
I could almost call yesterday in Starkville a nice day. Rained hard/wind kicked up a little a couple of times but otherwise it was fairly calm and even had sunshine mid afternoon. How's this for random luck

Have yesterday's tornadoes in south Mississippi been rated yet?

We had nothing in north Alabama except some loud thunder, wind, and fairly heavy rain. And all of that was on the tail end that came through mid-evening yesterday.
