Possibly the last year. After this year there are going to be some tremendous changes for high school football in this area as it pertains to 2A & 1A. Ackerman & Weir likely to combine (possible move to 3A) & there's rumors of both Okt county schools merging to Starkville High (possible move back to 6A IF it happens).

I'm pretty sure he played in the NFL & caught TD passes from Brett Favre & Aaron Rogers, what was his name.....hmmmm Oh yeah Donald Lee. I had a different take

MC off the field last night.

I actually thought MC looked pretty good. They need to tackle better. No one could do much in that rainstorm. Once the hurricane left, MC pretty much dominated. They lost to Olive Branch because they got 22 penalties and gave up two football fields worth of yardage. No excuse for that.

Hard to tell with that weather and Starkville having a back-up QB in though. I think we'll get a good verdict on MC after they play Petal, but to me they look like a team that will contend.

Good news. Outside of sports, East and West Oktibbeha are completely awful academically. Starkville High isn't incredible academically or anything, but it will be great for the students of the county schools to have an opportunity for a better education.

It will presumably save money for the district too, to run 1 high school instead of 3. Win-win all around.
