Dyslexia on the other hand can be a problem, though it CAN, in many cases, be treated without medications.

As to your question...if changing my diet, working out, and changing my life habits could help control high blood pressure or diabetes then that is the way I would go about it. My first answer isn't going to be to pump myself up full of meds. It a combination is what is needed, then sure.

Again, we are drugging 10 year olds because they like to talk and they are hyper. That isn't a "learning disability." That may not even be a behavorial issue. That kid could just be talkative or have a lot of energy. But you and the others here seem to want to drug them into submission. Teachers are too lazy to figure out a way to teach these kids or allow them to use that energy in a creative way. Instead, kids get sent to the office or school nurse and then reported to the parents because they are "unruly" and need medication to deal with it.

You're clueless. There's a difference between short attention span - which every kid under the age of 12 has - and a learning disability. Can't you understand that? These girls on this team are not the result of lazy parents, they have real issues. Get off your high horse and read a goddamn book. I sincerely hope your poor daughter never suffers from it, since you'll be like Tom Cruise and refuse to give her anything that could help. Also, I sure hope she never has a headache or a sinus infection. Wouldn't want her to be popping pills for that.

Again, comparing two colleges, one at the highest level of competition, to two tiny high school girl's basketball teams is astoundingly stupid. For one, it was like a 40 point margin, not 100-0. If A had beaten B 100-60, nobody on here would be saying a word about it, and it wouldn't have likely even made the news. Secondly, we cleared our bench, and I'm sure UNA did too. The girls on the zero end of the score have no bench. One article I read said the other team's starters were in the game at the end, as they were TRYING to score 100 on these girls. And who do you think told the girls to keep pressing and trapping up 90-0? Pretty sure it was the ******* coach. I doubt they decided to do it on their own.

should have been granted points they didn't earn because they weren't as good, but that isn't the way it works in sports. I'm sure, just like your liberal buddies have ensured in life, that will soon be the case.

People here say he should have gone to the 2-3 zone. He did, in the first half.
They say he shouldn't have had the team pressing. He wasn't, they stopped that midway through the FIRST half.
They say that they shouldn't have been shooting threes. They weren't!

He did EXACTLY what people here said he should have been doing. In fact, the schools are similar in that they don't have deep rosters.

I'll take medical advice from you the day after I take marital advice from you. Sit down.

I vote that RFAA get the title of SixPack Doctor based on his expert medical opinions on medicine and health in this thread. If we would all just stop taking that dirty medicine stuff we would all be so much more healthy. Thank you again, RFAA for making us see the light of day.

Does a parent count? It was incredibly poor sportsmanship at best.
<span id="intelliTXT"></span>

<span id="intelliTXT"></span></p>
<span id="intelliTXT"></span>

<span id="intelliTXT">A parent who attended the game told The Associated Press that Covenant continued to make 3-pointers - even in the fourth quarter. She praised the Covenant players but said spectators <span style="font-weight: bold;">and an assistant coach were cheering wildly as their team edged closer to 100 points.</span></span></p>

"I think the bad judgment was in the <span style="font-weight: bold;">full-court press and the 3-point shots," said Renee Peloza, whose daughter plays for Dallas Academy. "At some point, they should have backed off."</span></p>

Dallas Academy coach Jeremy Civello told The Dallas Morning News that the game turned into a "layup drill," with the opposing team's guards waiting to steal the ball and drive to the basket. Covenant scored 12 points in the fourth quarter and <span style="font-weight: bold;">"finally eased up when they got to 100 with about four minutes left," he said.</span></p>

we should be thanking you for showing us how bad medicine is for us. We will just all wait for L Ron Hubbard to rescue us from his spaceship if we have any problems. I just flushed my half used bottle of ibuprofin down the toilet, thank you Doctor RFAA for the enlightenment.

daughters how to recognize it as well.

I'll take the coaches word, as well as some of the players, before I listen to the parents on the losing team.

Hell, the players on the losing team are taking it better than you and some of the others are.

Short attention span is a symptom of ADD. ADD is a real disorder. It is overdiagnosed, you are correct. But it does exist. And if these kids are in a special school for it, then I'm pretty sure they aren't just "normal" kids with normal short attention span that all kids have.

I have a 23 year old girlfriend who is an athletic trainer, and I don't have to constantly hear my x-wife bitching at me because she was fat and lazy and I wanted something better. I walk and ride my bike everywhere, I've lost 60 pounds, don't eat red meat, pork or chicken anymore, and am generally enjoying life to the fullest. I live in a vibrant liberal city, and I can go to any doctor I want and get medicine if I feel sick. We have a new president who is a breath of fresh air after 8 years of ineptitude. What a country!

Thanks for asking.
Your friend,

I know I'm new so I wont get a lot of respect, but there are hundreds of instances of unsportsmanlike conduct every year in high school sports. It is just part of the game. One instance is not worth this coach losing his job. He should have had a meeting with the principle of the school, been put on probation or whatever, but losing his job is overkill.

Is he an idiot because he doesn't agree with you too?

Here is what he had to say:

"It was poor judgment," Queal said. "I look at the box score and look at the box score, and it was not justified. It will never happen again."

Looks like you and the fired coach are the only ones who seem to think it was ok.

will fix that little problem about "...going to any doctor you want and get medicine..." pretty soon. Right after he gets through with the really important stuff like preventing "savage" interrogations of our enemies, not using US tax payer money to kill babies all over the world, and not allowing homo's in the military.

so I told you how it was going. If you don't want to hear about it, don't bring it up.

But with that being said, you are still an idiot. And the Broncos still suck and are gonna get schooled by the Chiefs for years to come.

that there are a lot of "homo's in the military" then you are a bigger idiot than RFAA. I don't care what your sexual orientation is, if you are willing to die for our country more power to you.

there are only 8 minutes in a high school quarter and I believe a 30 second shot clock. Unless the other team is immediately throwing the ball out of bounds or dribbling it off their foot every single possession, once you are up 50-0 you have no need to be taking more than 4 or 5 shots a quarter. Of course they scored 12 points in less than 4 minutes in the 4th quarter, which means they either a) didnt run the shot clock down every time or b) were shooting 3 pointers. In either case, they weren't slowing the game down at all and their coach is a lying sack of **** and was deservedly fired.

you will be dying soon anyway since you don't believe in taking any medicine. You can pass your bills off to your 9 month old kid.

There is no need to shoot a shot more than once every 30 seconds. Obviously they aren't going to make every shot, even at say a 60% FG percentage, 16 shots taken a quarter (1 every 30 seconds) is 9.6 made baskets. Round that up to 10 and thats 20 points a quarter. That is if a) They constantly had the ball and b) they were running the shot clock down. Since there is no way they always had the ball, they obviously were pushing and scoring before the shot clock was up, since they scored 29 points in the 3rd quarter and 12 in 4 minutes of the 4th quarter.

Basically there is no way they were slowing the game down at all scoring that many points. I'm not saying they should have run the clock out and purposely not taken a shot but they definitely didn;t do any slowing down.

team may have fouled the other team a few times trying to stop them.

On top of all that, you are still operating on the assumption that it is somehow wrong to win by large margins. I don't think so. I've been on both sides of that and you learn from each experience. The girls involved in the game recognize that, it is too bad the adults here can't.

Last time I checked a semi-retarded Republican won two of the last three elections while the latest one was won by a Democrat with the help of an agenda-driven media. It took the worst President in history to give the White House and the government to the Democrats.

the parents are lying? Why would they lie? Who would seem more likely to lie? The parents of the offended team, or the coach who is getting bashed in the media and just got fired? I'm thinking the coach is much more likely to lie about how the game played out.

And by the way, I'm a far-right wing conservative, and I think what this coach did was awful. You making it into a liberal vs conservative argument is stupid.

I went to a small Academy in the state of MS, but we were known for our basketball teams. My sophomore year we beat a team 102-39. While they did at least score, I think its at least comparable. They were in our district and we had to play them. I was in 10th grade so didn't get to play much and at the start of the fourth quarter we had 72 points. Well, our coach subbed me and 4 other sophomores in that didn't get to play much. Since we rarely got to play that year we weren't just going to sit on the ball. We came out shooting 3's left and right. I didn't then and don't now feel the least bit bad about it. I mean if the coach honestly pulled the kids back and put them in a zone and things like he said then I don't see anything wrong. I think every fan of our team cheered real loud when we scored 100. Why not? its basketball this is not life. Its a game. I just find it ridiculous this is even worth the whole nation knowing.

Parents have always been known to keep their emotions in check when discussing their kids sports, particular when their kids have their asses handed to them.

Nobody explained why this is "awful." Are you afraid that it is demeaning to the other team? That it will somehow damage their self-esteem? That they may not be able to get on with their lives?

When did this board become so caring and sensitive?

If the article hadn't included the "learning differences" comment nobody would be having a problem. Those kids should learn that having "learning differences" will not protect them from failure no matter how harsh the lesson. And judging by the reaction from the girls on the losing side, they don't deem it so harsh.

And don't forget it was people like you who made it all happen for the great W.

Anyway, try to stick to the issue at hand. The fact I am on the winning side of politics is a moot point.

You are getting your *** handed to you in this thread & you aren't handling very well.
