Just curious, how many in attendance has the game averaged in the last few years? I live in Seminole District country and big games can get about 2k and up for regular season. Sounds like it could be game of the year quality.

Absolutely I'll be there. It's great to see this rivalry game actually have some pop. I mean most feel Highland Springs will win but this is the first time in the last few seasons there is some reason to believe Varina can pose a challenge.

It had pop! Pop goes the yellow hanky! I have never seen so many flags thrown in any game, ever! Ya know, the white hat referee was a 1977 HSHS Football player GRADUATE!
I don't even want to talk about it! Ugly game.

I had a gentlemen actually ask me how many penalties we were up to in the second quarter and at that time I counted 18! It was ridiculous! I don't know that I have ever been to a game where I saw so many penalties.

Speed kills and Springers had that for sure. I think early on Varina had some momentum going with the Springers stunting themselves with penalties but Varina's offense did them no favors with the amount of turnovers! They play this way against Bird and season over.

If anyone beats Highland Springs they are going to have to match that speed.

HS has so much talent it's ridiculous! If they can put together clean (penalty free) games I don't think anybody in Virginia can beat them! They have to learn what they can't do first! We already know what they CAN do!! This penalty bug has to go away if they want to 3peat!

Hopefully it's nothing too serious for either one and they will be back next week. Blue Devils will need them to beat the Skyhawks.

If Varina plays like they have played all season, then it will be a closer game. If they play like they did last night, it could get as ugly as last season's game against Bird.

K'Von had a killer game today! He broke up that pass in the end zone the play before the interception!! Great game!! I am so proud of him! He's doing great and will have great things happening for him!!
I saw on facebook a while back... after he got his high school state championship ring, he left for Clemson. By the end of last year, he was showing us his ACC Championship AND his National Championship rings as well! Good job K'Von and the Clemson Tigers!!

I think the Bird / Varina game will be more interesting... I am officially out on Varina though. They just turn it over too much for me. Watch out for LC Bird. If they get by Varina they could upset somebody. They caught a couple of bad bounces this year. The qb and Donaldson is a great 1-2 punch. Qb can throw too, just need the receivers to catch a few!
