I don't think I've ever felt so bad for the kids on a team as I did a couple weeks ago watching HT. It was actually uncomfortable watching that game.
I haven't missed but a couple Shelby games since late 90s but I may go either watch Crest vs SP Or. Chase vs Hendo
I still can't figure out how the state thought this was a good idea. Nothing to gain for either school. Hopefully both teams get out of it healthy and move on to next week.
If Reidsville is coasting, Shelby is sleep walking literally. You can play the trainers and 9th graders in this game. With this conference you need to replace Hibriten with South Pointe(or Gaffney), Hough, or Chambers just to balance things out. At least until another realignment.
Both should be fantastic ball games. Should be the first real test for Chase this week.
Want happen cause for sure you will most always see KM and Crest as 2 non conference teams, then we are in for 1 more year with Hibriten and think 2 with Ac

Poor Highland.. at least their unis are quite epic to look at. That'll be the only thing they will have on Shelby. NCHSAA shoulda known better than to put them in this conference; they shoulda switched them with MIC and everything woulda been better.

You have to give it to the Highland Tech players. They know they’re going to take a beating yet they go out there every week. It’s all about the experience.
I read that the game has been moved to Huss, due to lack of visitor seating at Highland. Can this get any better?

I remember that 1994 Bessemer City team. Never will forget the size they had on the line. It was all Lincolnton could do to beat them in the playoffs.
BC had fullback Phillip Crosby who would play on the University of Tennessee's national championship team in 1998. They were a big team.
I believe early in the game Crosby broke through the line and was heading for a touchdown except it appeared the entire Lincolnton D turned around and chased him down as they were taught by Mike Briggs. What do they say? Speed kills.
Crosby will be inducted into the Gaston County Sports Hall of Fame on Oct 16.
Highland Tech has a 26 game home winning streak and didn't want to take a chance is what I heard.
If SHELBY FANS are so concern for the HEALTH and SAFETY of the HT KIDS, the MIGHTY LIONS SHOULD show MERCY and COMPASION and good SPORTMANSHIP and FORFEIT this GAME.
