Of all the fake outrage the loonies like many on this board have had over anything about the Dems and Hillary specifically, this is a real problem. I'm pissed. It will definitely effect my perspective as I view the potential candidates in 2016.

It simply . . .

reinforces all of the things people are already pre-disposed to dislike about the Clintons.

It's amazing at times, the level of self-unawareness that is put on display by Hillary Clinton. When you look at the fundamentals of 2016, conventional wisdom would seem to indicate that all has to do to win the Presidency is not choke, yet it's already starting and it doesn't feel surprising to me. In a weird way, I almost feel like a self-inflicted collapse seems almost inevitable for her. Call it a hunch. Maybe I'll be proven all wet, and maybe 21st century demographics and the turn-out will be enough to carry her to 270. Take Gore or Kerry's map, and add the increasingly Latino-influenced New Mexico, Nevada, and Colorado, and she is really almost there before the races even starts. But I feel like even though the campaign is only just beginning, she's already poised to make 20 or more 'rookie mistakes' that any campaign staff worth a damn should see coming from miles away. She may be surrounded by too many yes-men for her own good.

Arrogance has always been the hallmark of her character.....

I just don't see this as having any long term effect, especially with yet another Bush in the game.

With the large majority of the voting public that will evaluate the candidates objectively, I would agree this will not have a long term effect. For a very small slice of the population such as me, it will.

Which is why it has always amazed me how people tolerate her

**** sometimes.

She should have known better, but I think it will be forgotten in a month.

let's certainly let the appearance of another person entering the race to distract from the appearance certain policies, rules, or laws don't apply to another. She gets special treatment whereas another politician possibly wouldn't. It's a form of protection and it is seen here too.

There was no way in hell I was going to vote for her anyway. It's very unlikely that I will vote for GOP or Dem (I haven't in several elections, and until they show something different I see no reason to change) anyway.

I don't know that she broke any laws doing this. Some that will defend her will say that it's just a small thing. However, it's really a small thing to use the appropriate systems and email accounts as well. There are good legitimate reasons that they are in place.

I simply can't think of any rational reason for NOT following this policy and procedure, which is why if feels like a big deal to me.

I had some business with her staff when she was a NY senator....

Cocky bunch and I was glad to see them leave when she went to Washington. However, I do like her replacement a lot.

Except that she left the State Dept 4 months before they requested that all employees use their government email for all official business, and forward messages from personal email address to their government addresses whenever they did happen to use a personal email account.

The messages should be archived, and that's one of the reasons they don't want these messages on a personal account. Is it illegal though? I'm not sure how if the State Dept only changed this after she left.

Is that Gillibrand? Or was she already there and there is somebody else that replaced Hilary?

Re: Yes, Kristen Gillibrand*

I like her from what I've seen of her. Seems much more like an everyday person than most of the rest of them.

At the end of this it says that it became mandatory to use official email after she resigned.

It seems crazy to me that it wasn't mandatory to begin with.
