RR is our fallen star. He will never play again in the NFL....a double standard since others with domestic violence, killers, abusers, drug users and all kinds of other deviant behavior (you know their names) have been let back into the league. But that cell phone video was a game changer. Period.

Moving forward, Ray is involved with his community, has taken steps in counseling to get help, owns his resposnsibility in the domestic violence / assault on his wife and still is involved (I believe) in helping special needs children. His good qualities far outweigh his weaknesses.

Give him a second chance.

Time for Rutgers to show the college world that we don't eat our offspring. Besides, hopefully we will be creating a new coaching team and while (IMO) RR's name carries negatives in some quarters, it also carries positives in many if not more quarters.

Give it a chance and roll the dice: so far this from the arrests, alleged home invasion of drug dealers and the coaches own indiscretion of contacting professors to facilitate helping a player who turned out to be one of the alleged assault perps. All we've seen is sneak eyes. With RR we have a chance...let's use it.

I question the poster's comprehension of anything and everything. My God, everyone is allowed to vote in this country.

Mo,

Your first paragraph illustrates the real reason RR has not gotten another chance. It has nothing to do with cell phone videos or his "crime."

He's shot.

He's a guy who took a heavy beating in college and then again in the league. His production was on a sharp downward trend.

So many teams in the NFL either A) can't run the ball effectively or B) have seen their starters lost to season ending injury. Yet, Ray is still on the couch.

Has NOTHING to do with hitting his wife.

Rutgers is in the Big Ten now. Even the hiring of assistants requires that the assistants have real credentials. The days of stepping stone and redemptive hires should be in our rear view mirror.

Why not a referee in a woman's MMA or boxing matches...

BECAUSE he's one of ours / I'd like to see us help him!

Fine, let him finish his bachelor's degree and then come on board as a grad assistant fetching coffee and editing game film. Suggesting he is worthy of a paid coaching position because "he is one of our own" is flat out idiotic.
