Give it more than one game deboer didnt forget how to coach. Leach was a hall of famer and was hated here for winning nine games and finishing ranked in the top 20. The fan bases ability to recognize a good coach is half the problem.
And DeBoer was kind of a head scratcher at Alabama to begin with. Doesn’t seem like a good fit.
In fairness this is game 14. If they indeed lose this game he we will be 5-5 in his last 10 p4 games.
This is Alabama being out of sorts due to the transfer portal era. I doubt they are an easy out during sec play. But we will see. Deboer won’t last adt this year if he can’t turn it around. Never want to be the guy who follows the guy. Deboer is still a coach most programs would be lucky to have.
His record as a HC before taking the Bama job was 104-12…. And he took a non traditional school to the national title game two years ago. The only explanation for it is it’s just a bad fit or a wrong place/wrong time situation.

The local fans are certainly getting antsy after this game. They're not accustomed to losing, and never thought Saban was slipping a few bills under the table. It was all top-notch coaching and the ability to ethically draw outstanding players.

You keep buying into the idea that if we used some sort of science to get the right guy all would be well. If it worked like that everyone would make good hires. That’s not the way it works. Sometimes even the home run hires flop. Moorhead was widely considered to be a home run hire. Heck even Sabin flopped in the NFL…..and Ed Ogeron flopped, then won a national title….and THEN flopped angain. It’s about as far from science as you can get.
