Hitters 6,7,8,9 went 1 for 17

Awful, just plain awful, the bottom of our lineup. I like how Frazier kept coming up with two outs.
If Ammirati starts tomorrow I am not even watching. That's just what we need...to make an already horrible 5-9 in the lineup, even worse by adding another Pirtle to it.
We are in year 5 and have very few good hitters.
We have a bunch of skinny ,5 foot nothing weak punch and Judy's.
Seems everytime we get a new recruit it's a small middle infielder or another pitcher.
Go find some damn big kids who can crush the damn ball!
Sam frost, Matthew britton, Brett pirtle, Henderson ????
Just 1 or 2 more renfroes would make a world of difference!!

Winning cures all. And now that the real competition has started, things aren't looking too good.

I'm gonna let you guys in on a little secret so you won't be so miserable for the rest of the season when we don't hit. There is only ONE college player in the ENTIRE country that is projected to be an average or above average MLB hitter this year, and MLB teams gobble up those guys like cold pizza after a hang over. What you need to understand is that NOBODY can hit. The pitching in college baseball is far ahead of the hitting. It has really always been that way, but the old bats made it look as if the hitters were better than they really were. With the new bats, the real talent level of the hitters is becoming exposed.
The reason we recruit small middle infielders? Because any human being in the US or Puerto Rico that can actually play a middle infield position successfully, and isn't a midget, and can hit a little bit, is taken in the first round of the MLB draft. Due to whats available on the talent market and due to the MLB draft, you will have to choose whether you want a middle infielder thats big or one that can actually play his position. Again, you won't get a big one that can hit, because anybody that can hit, is probably already playing pro baseball. With this in mind, it always make much more sense, in a defense and pitching league, to take the smaller guys that can play his position, and then hope you can learn to hit, walk, and **** enough to be productive.

Dont tell me I have to settle for a 2B below the Mendoza line. Not every 2B is Robinson Cano, but we can put .300 hitters there, not Pirtles. If Cohen continues with the Fantastic Four out there, it's all on him.
I understand what you are saying, and perhaps it can get a little better, but read the linked article if you want an idea of where the talent level at 2nd base is these days.

Detz is not a 17in 2nd baseman. Get over it. He may have played it before but he sure as **** isn't now.
