SOMETHING INTERESTING AND PARTICULARLY CONCERNING OF NOTE...THE
00Z NAM DEPICTION OF THE LOW SUNDAY THROUGH MONDAY SHOWS A VERY
NEGATIVELY TILTED SYSTEM OVER ALABAMA PUSHING NORTHWEST OVER MIDDLE
TENNESSEE. SUB 537 DAM 1000-500 MB THICKNESSES AND SUB 1290M
1000-850 MB THICKNESSES SUPPORT SNOW WITHIN THIS BAND. DEEP OMEGA
AND A PERSISTENT...NEARLY STATIONARY BAND WOULD RESULT IN SEVERAL
INCHES OF WET SNOW SUNDAY THROUGH MONDAY OVER MUCH OF THE
SOUTHWESTERN HALF OF THE MIDSOUTH. OBVIOUSLY HARD TO BITE ON THIS
PARTICULAR SOLUTION...BUT IT WILL HAVE TO BE FOLLOWED IN SUBSEQUENT
MODEL RUNS SINCE IT IS ONLY ABOUT 48 HOURS AWAY AND THERE IS A
REAL POTENTIAL FOR AT LEAST A MIX OF RAIN/SNOW WITH THIS SYSTEM.

If the other models pick up on it then maybe some snow but like they said its hard to believe that. If the other models pick up on it and if it is still showing that with the next run of models in the morning then I might get excited but not right now.

If some more models start to jump on the snow trainby the time the12Z comes out,or maybe even 6Z, I would start to think about snow as a real possibility. They sayany forecast beyond 3 days inpure17n magic. Well most any snow forecast in the South beyond 36 hours is the same. But if this has some legs by tomorrow afternoon, I would start paying a lot more attention to it.

Agreed...Its interesting that the NAM and GFS has wrap around moisture much more than earlier..And with colder air and moisture, always a chance of something..Jackson sounding showed snow soundings on Monday morning on 18z run and Monday evening on 00z run..So something to watch but a bullseye of white death? I don't believe that..Also no offense to them, but I don't forecast snow off of thicknesses..Its only a small judge of atmospheric temperature profiles and its not the best way to forecast snow..Wouldn't u say that Henry? What u think Doug is thinking? Whoo snow! lol

Looks like everything is in place except cold enough surface temps to stickat this moment. Over the past few days they've been nudging those Monday night lows down ever so slightly to where this is a possibility now. If this trend continues, I think a lot of people could see a dusting to a half an inch or so. Places like Huntsville now havearound a 30% chance of snow with nothing mixed in according to the NWS, so it will be interesting to see how this evolves over the next 48 hours.

At this moment, places like Tupelo and areas north and westhave the best chances in MS to see some White Death.
