Okay,It's not an award off of 1 match. Now respond like a 12 years old again
Question for the board.
If Corby, Mark Manning, and Bob Nicolls were all in a boat and it was sinking, who do you toss the weighted vest to first?
Okay,It's not an award off of 1 match. Now respond like a 12 years old again
Ryan ...Coach Of The Year.....that's kinda funny...coach of the team that steamrolled by Penn State 36 to 5
Ya think??
Look at this garbage from the Big Ten:
Not MM. Not Duke. Not Cael.
All 3 of these are laughable.
Coach Ryan did well with the hand he was dealt. The young bucks just ain’t so young anymore.Ryan ...Coach Of The Year.....that's kinda funny...coach of the team that steamrolled by Penn State 36 to 5
Ya think??

Cael, Duke and Mendez. Mitchell has always been this dominant which hurts him actually. Mendez has jumped a level and is putting it on guys like he hasn't before so it's noticeable. Mitchell is just doing Mitchell things that we have seen for years so its not like wow look at Mitchell because it's nothing new.
But if I was a Penn st fan and won 12 or the last 14 team titles and we dominate everyone I wouldn't be crying about awards. You guys just sound like a bunch of babies you win everything but now we gotta have all the awards to. You know who doesn't care Cael, Duke and Mitchell
With a garbage TD at the end when Hardy was in desperation mode. Real score subtracting that was 4-2.How big did Mendez put it to Brock Hardy on Sunday? Oh, that's right...7-2!
Again...

I find it difficult justify Davino over Duke. They both avenged their only loss of the year by beating the #1 seed in the Finals. However, Davino’s win was a TB decision over a true freshman. Duke’s revenge win in the finals was against a Senior and defending National Champion by a decisive Major Decision, which came on the heels of another decisive 20 point Major Decision over the previous #1 Cannon. It's pretty comical. I can give them Davino even though Duke is certainly arguable.
Mendez over MM is as funny as their preseeds. The argument is that's what's expected from him is silly. If Ohtani does what is expected of him this year would the writers not vote for him as MVP because he's won so many.
Cael is the most egregious. Tough crap if you need to give it to him every year, then someone knock him off. It's not like OSU drastically outperformed or Tom managed a lineup that went through a bunch of adversity. Cael is setting records with a team that has 3 freshman and 3 sophomores and had to plug a gap in one of the 10 spots we had after losing a starter.
I'm sure they don't care a ton, I'm fine for any fans that care. We want to see our coaches and wrestlers get the accolades they deserve and care for them because they won't come out and say it. Mendez obviously cares as he shilled for himself in the post match interview talking about bonus when he basically wrestled a one take down match. Just makes the Big Ten look stupid, petty and but that's par for the course.
Agree, but I guess if don't want to give PSU all the awards you can make some type of case for Davino and you gave Duke OW of the tournament. But you're right, I think Duke's resume is definitely more impressive. To give PSU none of those 3 awards is just bat poop crazy.I find it difficult justify Davino over Duke.
With two major exceptions:Cael, Duke and Mendez. Mitchell has always been this dominant which hurts him actually. Mendez has jumped a level and is putting it on guys like he hasn't before so it's noticeable. Mitchell is just doing Mitchell things that we have seen for years so its not like wow look at Mitchell because it's nothing new.

Also, throw in there that Davino is a redshirt Freshmen.!I find it difficult justify Davino over Duke.
So you cry about the PSU fans. classicCael, Duke and Mendez. Mitchell has always been this dominant which hurts him actually. Mendez has jumped a level and is putting it on guys like he hasn't before so it's noticeable. Mitchell is just doing Mitchell things that we have seen for years so its not like wow look at Mitchell because it's nothing new.

Way too many PSU fans lately channeling Iowa fan vibes. Enjoy the Dynasty without being a douche. It’s great to have you over here being the board conscience. Btw, your virtuousness is greatly needed over on your home board. The Mississippi is overflowing with their tears.
Ridiculous, it’s who had the BEST year, not a participation award for Ryan and his crew
Ohio State had a great tournament the dual doesn’t matter. I have no problem with the awards the way they fell. The winning coach isn’t automatically the COTY. Why else have these awards?Ryan ...Coach Of The Year.....that's kinda funny...coach of the team that steamrolled by Penn State 36 to 5
I’m sorry, is it coach of the year or coach of the tourney? Why would the dual not count for coach of the year?Ohio State had a great tournament the dual doesn’t matter. I have no problem with the awards the way they fell. The winning coach isn’t automatically the COTY. Why else have these awards?
Nope. The Big10 obviously gives out participation awards.Ridiculous, it’s who had the BEST year, not a participation award for Ryan and his crew
Opinions like that will get you a ton of goodwill and acceptance. And i would never. It makes no sense. Plus, us Iowa fans ain't tOSU fans.
That's absolutely stupid that tOSU swept all 3 awards. For God's sake, it's the BIG TEN awards. Coach who wins it should win it every year, unless some Purdue decides they want to make a run and end up team 2nd with like 4 champs or something.
I like Mendez, but he's the clear #3 best wrestler this year.
With a gift 3 at the end of a failed hail mary. How big did Mendez put it to Brock Hardy on Sunday? Oh, that's right...7-2!
Again...

Again?I think they break the record again I say 185. What other records were broken?
Can you explain the "year" perspective then? I mean other than something that reads like Mitchell is more impressive than Mendez, but Mendez is better compared to previous Mendez models. It's not an award off of 1 match. Now respond like a 12 years old again
I think Starocci beats HendricksonSame here, I literally do not care about the Hodge. Personally I think the finalists should wrestle off for the trophy lolol. Let's see if Mendez can beat Mitch or Barr? Oh course I doubt Starocci beats Hendrickson.
Yes the record of 177Again?
I don't know why the coaches voted the way they did. Mendez and Mitchell were both deserving and only 1 can win . Regardless of who won that award will be in a closet soon. Can't believe people actually care about thisCan you explain the "year" perspective then? I mean other than something that reads like Mitchell is more impressive than Mendez, but Mendez is better compared to previous Mendez models.
Or how Mendez is more deserving of the wrestler of the year award based on being so much better than the previous Mendez model when it is quite obvious the jump Barr has made is much greater than the jump Mendez has made?
It most certainly is not a one match analysis, but no matter the measurables used Messenbrink and Barr finish ahead of Mendez. At least to this point.
There are 3 days and 5 matches left to add to the determinations, but if Mendez is ahead at this point the judging mechanism is purely subjective.
Excellent point. Why not give the award to Michigan State coach, Chandler. MSU reached double digits in team scoring. That seems significant since Mich State is capable of scoring none.Ohio State had a great tournament the dual doesn’t matter. I have no problem with the awards the way they fell. The winning coach isn’t automatically the COTY. Why else have these awards?

I only say the nicest things.Opinions like that will get you a ton of goodwill and acceptance.
Just saying.
I wasn't asking for your guess on the coaches' thought process. Your take on why Mendez may be perceived as more dominant because the comparison is more Mendez versus earlier Mendez model.I don't know why the coaches voted the way they did. Mendez and Mitchell were both deserving and only 1 can win . Regardless of who won that award will be in a closet soon. Can't believe people actually care about this
I see the problem. You need to take your shoes and socks off too.Yes the record of 177
I am baffled that you seem to care so much about whether we care or not…..I don't know why the coaches voted the way they did. Mendez and Mitchell were both deserving and only 1 can win . Regardless of who won that award will be in a closet soon. Can't believe people actually care about this
Thought we were discussing big 10 wrestler of the year? The hodge is way different. Don't move the goalpost on me know PaulI am baffled that you seem to care so much about whether we care or not…..
if the awards are so meaningless, the why even hand them out. And if they are so meaningless why do we invite our past hodge winners to meet, where they seem very happy to carry them out on the mat and have us applaud them. While smiling….
You mean people like Cael Sanderson?I don't know why the coaches voted the way they did. Mendez and Mitchell were both deserving and only 1 can win . Regardless of who won that award will be in a closet soon. Can't believe people actually care about this
they can't be serious??Ryan ...Coach Of The Year.....that's kinda funny...coach of the team that steamrolled by Penn State 36 to 5
lol did tom get all 14 votes?Participation trophies for all!
what happened to the super team they arent ever gonna win the title!Coach Ryan did well with the hand he was dealt. The young bucks just ain’t so young anymore.
