Died in 2012.Inouye was Hawaii's Stennis/Eastland. He served in DC from 1959 until his death in 1963, 4 years in the House & 49 in the Senate. He was Hawaii's original Congressman when it became a state in 1959. He also witnessed the Pearl Harbor attack as a 17 year old high school senior.
Thanks for posting this. His story is even more incredible than I knew. Interesting they sent them to Europe to fight. But that was the #1 priority then and the war with Japan was strictly Army Air Corps at the time.He actually trained his all segregated unit of Japanese Americans at Camp Shelby, which went on to be one of the most decorated units of the War
That's an awkward look for Kennedy, putting his hands in his coat pockets for some weird reason when Inouye has an obvious reason for his sleeve to be in his. Nobody puts their hands in their suit pockets, almost like he's trying to be sympathetic or something
Probably just embarrassed that they wore the same suit. That's an awkward look for Kennedy, putting his hands in his coat pockets for some weird reason when Inouye has an obvious reason for his sleeve to be in his.
