this is a lot of egg on the face of the NCAA for not suspending them from playing in the bowl game. if they don't throw the book at them, then no one will ever respect anything the NCAA does aGAIN. this **** might get real ugle for tOSU

If AU is in the clear, then it means they either didn't really do anything or there is simply no evidence of it. If anything, I'm betting the NCAA is looking to make an example of some programs in order to make a statement.

first at Vanderbilt (intentional) and now at Ohio State (unintentional).
And Arkansas should go ahead and start claiming to be Sugar Bowl champs now.

unless it is a non-relevant school such as ours. There is no chance they take down a top 10 program unless the school was cutting checks to the players and running a prostitution ring. I just don't see it happening.</p>

(I did once know a girl back in 1993 that was a OSU grad--andI did like that) but let me be the first to say that the NCAA may levy some huge penalties against them andI say may....but they will be back and in the Top 10 in football again no matter the sanctions in at least 3 years. No way OSU stays down for long with the money and influence and facilities they have.

Where does it stand now in terms of investigation and what may come out? What's your take?

is that there are 2 tracks. The feds are investigating legislative pay for play (bingo/pari mutuel ****) that "could" implicate some football shenanigans. And the NCAA is officially investigating.

People want to dismiss the bingo gate **** as unrelated. I ask them to answer one question for me: Why did the FEDS interview John Bond? [Not the NCAA, mind you, the FEDS]. The FEDS don't do NCAA investigation ****. The FEDS don't give a **** about student athlete issues and the integrity of the college game. The FEDS do crimes. Criminal ****. Why did they talk to John Bond if there's no connection to what was their ongoing CRIMINAL investigation into legislative pay for play?

So my take is that we ain't anywhere near knowing what is going to come out of this and it's WAAAAAAAAAY premature to say AU is in the clear.

I think they are waiting for Cam's dad for file his taxes, which is what usually gets folks in this type of crime. He probably filed an extension; which means he will have to file his return in October. I was tacitly involved in a tax fraud case in Memphis with Danny Owens and we, the local enforcement folks that is, were wondering why the Feds had not moved forward faster cause we knew they had him. The week after he filed his returns he was indicted. I have no knowledge that this will happen or might happen, it's just my hunch.

USC isn't gonna be top 10 3 years after their sanctions. and their crime (1) involved a single player, (2) 1 position coach SHOULD have known of the violation, but no proof he did know, and (3) they didn't lie to the NCAA.<div>
</div><div>ohio st (1) involved multiple players, (2) involved multiple infractions (tats, autographs, cars, etc...what else?), (3) THE HEAD COACH KNEW of at least some of these violations, and maybe all of them, and (4) he/they lied to the NCAA.</div><div>
</div><div>if ohio st doesn't get penalties that dwarf USC's and cripple their program much longer than USC will be feeling their penalties, then USC needs to lead a NCAA mass exodus and start up a separate college sports governing entity.

I kept up with a lot of this stuff in the beginning, but am so far behind now I've just given up and hope for an announcement of sanctions. Or an Enron type of day with the Feds invading Auburn and bringing out cardboard box after cardboard box. You know, either or.
