Billingsley has thrown 6-7 pitches the last two batters right around the same spot. He’s called two strikes and 5 balls and the two that got the most of the plate were called balls.
Not really. You got a staff full of inconsistent pitchers like State, where one looks like Greg Maddox in 1 inning and Daffy Duck in the next, the UMP is NOT going to just give them close pitches.
There have been two pitches at belt night 3-4 inches into the white of the plate he hasn’t given.
Having said that, I don’t understand your point when he gives the close pitch for strikes one and two and then he calls the same pitch a ball twice out of the next four.

We are not going to win without HITTING the ball in the outfield grass. We need lots of runs not swinging at dirt balls with a runner on third. Our pitching cannot win this now! We trail. We have to hit. Not chase worm balls!!
No his job is to call a ball or strike on each individual pitch. It’s not based on consistency it based on each pitch and where it crosses the plate.
Did not say he should not be calling it a strike for our pitcher and a ball for theirs. What my intent was to say bellyaching about umpiring isn’t going to change the outcome of this game. The guys wearing black with the bats in their hands will have to. They gonna have to hit some pitcher’s pitches. This ain’t T-ball! They need to man up and get runs in. They are late on nearly every first swing.
