the leadership to govern or to be a SMART representative is grounded, in part, in experience, replication of those in the past who led smartly, and study of the science portion of representation e.g relating to others, etc. There is a reason they are called freshmen when they first come in. A leader without experience to grow as a leader lacks sufficient leadership needed to inspire or influence others.

Sorry, but IMHO we've had the poly-sci majors running this country for over a century and what do we have to show for it?

You don't need to be a career politician or bureaucrat to be an effective leader.

This is where my tax plan of taxing consumption doesn't favor anybody. The rich hire lawyers to show them how to hide their money. pay the attorneys tremendous fees for said knowledge. Before you say it hurts the poor, we can offset that with rebates for those filing income tax returns or prebate cards. I personally don't like either one because it's a bribe to not fight a change that would be good for the country. We need a thriving economy to pay for all our programs. I would hope that some could agree that the course charted for the last 6 years has fallen woefully short. Let's get a victory tonite, Go Mountaineers!

I was there, the crowd was great. I assume mostly because of getting revved up by the senior night ceremonies.

The thing I don't like about the consumption tax ... First, I sort of like your idea of the rebates and whatnot, but that doesn't help with cashflow month to month. I think if you're going to have a consumption tax, you need to exclude necessities from that. If somebody goes to the grocery store and buys hamburger and buns, no tax ... however, if they are getting it from a fast food place or a restaurant the tax would apply. But what I don't like is that if you don't do that and then count on rebates, it hits the cashflow for the month until that rebate or whatever can be processed. And let's be honest, you always say the government can't do anything efficiently, what are the chances those rebates get processed, error free, in a timely manner? And, how much would it cost to process them? It seems you're adding another layer of government involvement.

Keep in mind. I don't want to come across as overly critical. Picture it as more of an engineering or board meeting where we are walking through the potential issues and mitigations.

No, but you do need to be a leader, and Trump is not that.

Yes, you are right about he IRS but it would be better than what they are doing now and would take fewer employees. Most of the programs give the rebats up front. I think you ax everybody and everything. My key boeard is ac up.

I had to quit, half the stuff I was typing wouldn't appear. It was taking minutes to type a 10 word sentence. It's better now.

He is definitely a leader, but there are different kinds of leadership and they work best in different kinds of situations. He is definitely not the kind of leader to run a country (at least not in a positive way), but it's hard to deny he's a good leader when everybody is his employee.
