Honest question, since it appears Freeze is the second

coming of Moses will he allow the alumni to recruit in the fashion they did last year or will he put an end to those tactics? I mean surely cheating isn't something he can tolerate, can he?

Didn't Yancy tweet that Freeze would use every loophole possible in recruiting?

Looks like he'll fit right in.

Are we to assume y'all are cheating this year since you are killing us in recruiting? That has to be it. Couldn't be the fact that while these kids were recruited the hardest y'all were coming off a bowl game win while we came off a four win season. Kinda like us coming off a bowl win and y'all off a 5 win season the year before.

Brassel, Singleton, Johnson, Whitehead. One.... two... three..... Oh that's four players. Don't act like yall were clean last year in recruiting. Players don't just decide to switch from a 9-4 team to a 4-8 team AFTER the season. I understand yall didn't get Whitehead, but it was pretty common knowledge that he wasn't committed to us anymore and was yalls to lose, until Auburn swooped in at the end.

wow, you people are 'special' at the flagship (lost 3 in a row) university of the state

edit: Just wanted to say that I know you will lose focus and jump to the Newton argument, I am sorry I ever brought that one up. it just seems like a rational point to a person who thinks Ole Miss only cheated with one player. Its the same as saying AU has only tried cheating with Newton.

several long time OM commitments this year while your team and staff are off preparing for a New Year's Day bowl. Oh wait, I guess not. Quit being silly, it was the circumstances surrounding HOW last year went down that's the issue and you know it. I guess somehow those guys that were committed to us somehow hadn't heard we only won 5 games the year before.

My theory is and still remains that we were cheating no more than normal, but you had to back off of your normal cheating because of the Newton smoke and the investigators snooping around at the time, which pushed the pendulum in our favor briefly.

I really don't think we increased our efforts more than normal. I think it's more likely that your bag men had to be locked up for a brief period.

Don't tell me you honestly think you play it clean. If so, how in the world do you ever beat us out for recruits? You cleaned our clocks in 2009 in state despite the fact that you were coming off a 4-8 season while we were preparing for a Cotton Bowl against Texas Tech with a team that would finish in the Top 15, and despite the fact that you had a coaching change, and despite the fact that you were on the losing end of the most lopsided Egg Bowl since integration. We're still paying for that failed recruiting class, while you reap the rewards of it. Was that because those players all sincerely loved MSU so much, or was it because you were able to keep them away from our grimy paws by keeping your own grimy paws on them?

"You got recruits we wanted, and our record was better than yours AND we beat you, so you MUST have paid them because everyone knows that all that matters to recruits is overall record and head to head results against your rival!!111!!!!!1"

And yes we're gonna cheat. Since he is Freezus, we can buy and sell players like stocks if we want and no one will ever know.

People on message boards acting like they have a single, solitary clue what's going on inside the minds and families of 17 and 18 year old kids. Just truly, greatly, undeniably awesome posts. Keep 'em rolling.

I don't have enough insight to say we are lily white clean in recruiting but anyone who would look at the situation logically would say that the fairly obvious conclusion is that last year your big time boosters were feeling somewhat desparate after losing their second straight to Mullen and having a subpar year overall so they SIGNIFICANTLY stepped up their game. Especially after Mullen was spouting "we aren't ever losing to this team again" and other assorted jabs. Sometimes the most obvious conclusion IS the right conclusion.

Definitely different situations. That year we already had Russell, Cox, Boyd, and got Bumphis because of Mullen and his Florida connections. We didn't steal any recruits from yall after that season. We just were able to retain the ones we had. Last year yall had a terrible year, and we had a very good one. And then our recruits switched after the seasons? That doesn't add up and you know it. If they had been committed to yall the whole time it would be a moot point.

But, but, Yancy said.....!!! Who cares.<div>
</div><div>At the end of the day....it's where they sign and play. End of story. We're doing a pretty good job of it lately. You did it well last year, that's about it. And you still don't have anybody to block for the skill players you did get. So just shut the %*%* up and blow sunshine up your own ***. Save it here.</div>

How do you know for a fact that these 4 recruits that flipped during the dead period did not think "all that matters to recruits(them) is overall record and head to head results against your rival"? YOU are putting thoughts in the heads of 17 and 18 year old kids and their families too because it sounds absurd to you that they may strongly consider these issues.
