It's been fun watching Hood and Winslow overachieve (compared to their draft position). Congrats, gentlemen.

Hood= Yes definitely
Winslow= Everyone thought him falling to 10 was absurd. Also the Celtics made a godfather offer to try to get him at 9. So I don't think Winslow is surprising anyone.

28 Pts for Hood versus Cavs and 20 points for Winslow in Heat blowout.
In defense of my Nugs, the Heat only won by 5 ;-).

Winslow seems to be getting stronger as the year goes on, at least if his box score is any indication. Heat had him guarding Mudiay at times, another example of his versatility.

Winslow should be an ALL NBA defender in another year or 2. If he can consistenly knock down 3's (probably a few years away from that) he will be an All-Star.

I can see Rodney Hood getting as good as Joe Johnson's peak a few years ago.. He can be a great 2nd or 3rd option for a playoff team.

Well, he was selected 10th and is one of the top 5-7 rookies in the league. So, I'd still say he's overachieving compared to where he was drafted. And I think that's especially impressive considering he's younger than 8 of the 9 guys drafted ahead of him.

I only turn on an NBA game when I'm exceedingly bored. I only keep it on long enough to see if any Blue Devils are playing. Ended up watching Hood a little last night and it seemed like he's a focal point of the offense. Great to see.

SB Nation has great article on Justise, talks about his hoops knowledge & only being 19.

In the one and done era I have to admit I peek in a little more at NBA games these days to watch former Dukies. It's always fun to see our guys doing well in the league. There are few things I miss more from last year than Winslow ripping down a rebound or making a steal and heading down court with a full head of steam.

On a related topic, anybody keeping an eye on Redick's 3 point shooting percentage? He hit one last night from the bench, not kidding!! Too bad he's too slow, too short, un-athletic and will never last in the NBA. ;) ;)

Winslow going coast to coast steamrolling by opponents was a sight to see! Same with Quinn or Tyus shooting a top of the key 3, same with a Jahlil spin and dunk!

Tyus is averaging 45% from 3 and has a 5:1 assist:turn ratio in spotty time. He is the T-Wolves' primary backup now though and is getting more minutes. He too is not yet 20 years old. Not bad for a guy with his body at his age. He just sees things quicker than everyone on the floor. 10/10 for game feel. Low marks for defense at this point. They pick on him a bit.

I bet he and Jah would take less money to be on the same team. It's a shame they can't be road buddies. It would be a good thing for Jah especially.

Completely agree about Winslow. I actually recently rewatched some of the Duke/Virginia game from last year on YouTube. Him being able to speed up the game by going coast to coast really helped us against that tenacious defense!

Seth Curry got 34 minutes last night and had a nice game (11 points, 5 assists). JJ put up 25 points on 15 shots. And Tyus had 10 points and 5 assists in only 19 minutes.

Not bad, gentlemen.

Winslow was a steal in the draft for Miami. I can't believe he didn't go sooner, what a baller. I miss watching him take it coast-to-coast.
