I'm calling that right now. He made 1st team all freshman and that's great but 6 other names on that list are better than Rodney right now.

If he can get that mid-range jumper at will and be able to get to the basket against an averaged-sized defender somewhat consistently by the end of next year, I imagine he'll be gone. As long as he's mostly an oversized shooting guard(Ravern Johnson), he'll be with us.

He has the skills and the frame to be a really good player. He needs to add some bulk to his frame though to help him defend bigger players and help him in the lane.

I think he'll be more aggressive next year, especially considering all we lose - he'll have to be really. I could see him being gone after next year if he makes the jump, but we'll see.

His mom and dad are the kind of people who will insist that he get a four year degree. That plus this guy has excellent grades.

Money is a big pull and as he (his game) matures, agents will find him, but my hope is that he goes pro with a full four year degree.

I think that is what happens.

He could be real close to a degree by then with summer school sessions, and if he is projected as a first rounder he has to take the money.
If we don't sign Pollard, he will be the man next year for our team.

but at the moment is the best player we have had at his age (freshman) in a long time.

The nice thing is he will get better, because he is a more complete player right now than at the beginning of the season. His confidence is a lot better and I see him making moves that are new. I liek his pull up shot from the key - deadly when he is on. He has a good three from the side when it is working too. For a while he was doing a move under the goal that made me laugh every time he did it and scored. For some reason he seems to have stopped it. Maybe I'm not watching hen he does it.I'm old and cant be expected to watch every move every player makes. I must have hotdog and popcorn time during the games now and it takes longer than it once did.

That is his glaring weakness.
Defense will improve with strength and experience.
His shooting is already great. He can finish with his left in his sleep.

But when he is forced to go right, he makes it to 10' from the basket and is cut off.
