8 seed here we come. Duke or Houston in round 2 if we make it that far.
Just a horrible loss heading down the stretch. Probably a 9 or 10 seed. We just can't have nice things. Texas has lost 3 straight games and looked like dogshit doing it, but we make them look like the 97 Bulls.
Guaranteed one and done. Which I'm fine with. Tired of watching this god awful team. How the hell have they even won games.
This game was lost in the 8 minutes from 4:00 in the first half to 16:00 in the second half when they out scored us something like 24-6.
Texas tried to give the game to us so many times. They really are poorly coached, just have a lottery pick. We, once again, can’t make plays down the stretch. Layup to take the lead against Alabama with 12 seconds left, miss. Two free throws to take the lead against Texas with 20 seconds left. Miss both. We are horrible in late game situations.

We finished the SEC season with a 4-5 home record. That’s really poor, especially losing at home to this mediocre at best Texas team. They were coming off a nearly 20 point loss at home to Georgia and had lost six of their last seven before tonight. At least Oklahoma was on the road. This was a really bad loss.
Similar to the Oklahoma game. We look disinterested for most of the game and then try to turn it on in the last 2 minutes.
I put this in another thread, but we really don’t have a lot of high level talent. Kugal is a head case, Hubbard is small, can’t defend and is very streaky (3-12 tonight and 1-6 from three). Cam can’t shoot and Melendez is a role player. Harris has gone MIA. Complete non-factor tonight. Jans has done well to coax 20 wins out of this team, but if we want to be anything more than a bubble or slightly better team, we have to get more talent.
I’m looking at the 8/9 seed line right now and seeing teams like UConn, Gonzaga, Creighton…. We aren’t making it to the 1 seed.
We're about to be in the tourney for three straight years and yall want to fire Jans? Yall obviously don't know much about our basketball history.
Unfortunately, this is our goal year in and year out. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good achievement, but we seem to stop playing once we’ve locked in postseason play. Forget trying to get a better seed…We’d rather play a 9-seed and then run into a 1 seed buzz saw. Yay!!
I’m happy with Jans, but I’d be so much happier with if we could position ourselves to not play a 1 or 2-seed in the second round.
