MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The home opener for the West Virginia University men's basketball team against Youngstown State on Wednesday, Dec. 2, has been postponed due to the Penguins pausing team activities related to COVID-19.

The two schools are hoping to reschedule the game with a mutually agreeable date in December. More information will be released as it becomes available.

The No. 15-ranked Mountaineers will open the 2020-21 season on Wednesday, Nov. 25, against Northern Iowa at 2 p.m. in the first game of the Bad Boy Mowers Crossover Classic in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The game will be televised by ESPN.

Not feeling good about start of hoop season. January or February may be the realistic start of season. Bummer.

B1G is only playing a 25 game season, 5 OOC and a 20 game conference slate. I would imagine each school will have a handful of postponements, but it's much easier to squeeze in makeup games in hoops, than it is in football.

I think we just might see basketball the same as football in that it will be conference games only. Like you said basketball easier to make up.

Playing a bb tournament in SD is about the worst possible choice they could have made-- has the third worst morbidity rate in the entire world per capita from Covid due to inaction by the government and people there.

Thats deaths from Covid for those that dont understand.

I didn’t realize 80-90 year olds were eligible to play this year. Very disturbing indeed.

Maybe you should learn the difference between morbidity and mortality.

You should stay home if you’re scared. These athletes have nothing to worry about. Actually anyone in good health under the age of 75 don’t either.

So far, during D1 football season, I haven't heard of a single player who has died from COVID, despite the corona brothers indicating there would be deaths. In fact, I haven't heard of a single player who has had to be hospitalized from COVID. Is this correct?

Thanks Doctor Buck. Don't know what we would do without your false information and BS.
