about themselves. What a douche move. And, you better believe it struck a nerve with him.

I am not saying we should follow the coach 100% through all moments but damn, that was a stupid moment for those idiots that were of the Barrett Sallee way of thinking.

So glad he is ours and so glad that the morons appear to be in the minority. No way we should be happy and satisfied with 7-6 type seasons but you have to also have the sense to realize that our program was growing and that injuries took a real toll on us last year.

Oh yeah, Dan remembers, he mentioned it last night on that film watching show on SECN, that one year they are making websites to fire you (last year MSU) and the next year other teams (Gators) are making websites to hire you.

I don't recall ever actually seeing or hearing about a Fire Dan Mullen website.

Not disputing the craziness of it, especially to go so far as to create a website over it. That said, to play devil's advocate for a second, Dan was going to have a whole lot of heat from more than just that guy if he had lost the Egg bowl and missed out on the postseason last year. Luckily, he didn't and the rest is history now

Dak scores, Nickoe strips Bo and now Dan is on top of the world. Maybe it would've worked out anyway, but we'll never know. Reminds me of 1990. If Rockey beats either Auburn or UK, and both of those games came down to one or two plays, he probably survives to coach 1991. Maybe he turns the corner and goes on to establish himself. He had the talent to get it done.

Dan featured in an article on the front page of ESPN.com talking about hire and fire coach websites. Said they are insulting to coaches and specifically referenced the firedanmullen.com website last year.

If Derek Pegues isn't suspended against La Tech we probably don't fumble 2 punts in Ruston and lose that game. Later we have a PAT blocked against Kentucky in the 4th qtr and lose by 1. We would've finished the season 6-6. Would we have been able to fire a bowl-eligible Sylvester Croom?

Were we a suspension and a blocked PAT away from never hiring Dan Mullen?

I'm going to put on my tin foil hat here and say that it was registered by an Ole Miss fan. We were 8-4 at the point in the 2010 season and Dan was on the rise. Nobody was calling for him to leave.

We can partially thank Adam Carlson for Dan Mullen

Carlson missed a 35 yard FG in our 3-2 loss to Auburn. Also missed a 27-yard FG and PAT against Kentucky in a 14-13 loss. Win those two games and we are 6-6 and bowl eligible for a second straight year. I don't think we would've been able to fire Croom then, since we hadn't been to back to back bowl games in a long time. So thank you Adam, wherever you are. You hit the winning FG in the Egg Bowl in 2007 and then your misses in 2008 paved the way for Dan Mullen and greatness.

It doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. For example, whether sites like that exist or not won't have any bearing on whether or not he leaves Starkvegas for another job.

Holy ****... Why would an MSU fan register "firedanmullen.com" the day after we won the 2010 Egg Bowl?

Absolutely no way a state fan made that site, on that particular day. That was the day after wrapping up the best regular season we had in over a decade, end Mullen's 2nd season here and everyone was starting to believe in his world beating mentality.
