Iowa & Nebraska was.....aligned recently in their quest to play football last year. Its a geopolitical perspective. Big12 is def one of the more "Conservative" conferences. Which is why I included them in the list. Nebraska, Utah, Iowa, Indiana, both Arizonas, have a population/fanbase that probably does not align with the political views of the rest of the programs in their conference. Granted, thats not the only reason, as $$$ will obviously be a major determining factor. Im not saying they will leave their conference, just spitballing who may have an interest to find a better "cultural fit". If the BIG12 added 2-6 of those listed, it would still be a great conference. Id rather play those teams compared to Virginia, Cincinnati, Louisville, etc yearly. As long as we fit a couple regional rivals in our Out of Conference schedule. I have a fear if WVU joins the ACC, we will simply become just another mediocre program with no differentiating factors, which is what the ACC is mainly. We will not have a unique sales pitch when recruiting. Id much rather be geographically unique and not recruit against the majority in our conference. Also, because we play teams across the U.S. it also helps spread our Brand better then simply regional opponents. Many WVU fans who live in Virginia, NC, etc will be all for joining the ACC, so they can go to games, but is that whats truly best for WVU? When I think of the ACC, the first word that comes to mind is........ meh Its literally Big East 2.0
