First off, we should never play at the coliseum again. Just let that place die out in peace. It is a dump and sucks any life out of a crowd, implode it already. Crowd was completely dead last night.

Hank Flick is horrible. He read the same script about womens b-ball tickets over and over and over. And the football season tickets script he read was beyond embarassing. Also, when introducing the starting lineup did he say "Our Barry Stewart"? And i wanted to jam a pencil in my eye when he introduced "Jumpin Timmy Bowers" to the crowd during a timeout. How anyone defends Flick is shocking to me. He is embarassing, PERIOD.

Barry Stewart struggled aGAIN. Augustus, Bailey, and Holcombe didnt play for some reason.

And the ultimate indignity was during the second half when I looked in the tunnel and saw Greg Byrne talking to Gene Swindoll.

I'm just asking because I've been to one of the games in Tupelo, and most of the crowd was disinterested, but did make some noise on occasion. I've never been to a game at the Desoto County Arena or the Mississippi Coliseum.

Stansbury keeps going on about how soft this team is. He may be sending a message to certain players by taking away PT.

Doug and Chuck on 620 said that all the games played in Jackson Miss State has won by average of 21 points. Last night was the worst victory. Now just last week Bo was talking about this game and he said that State was going to have their hands full with Nichols State. He said that they were a decent team. Now if you add in the fact that we are not that good, I am really happy we won.

I did not get to go to the game. I thought all Christmas shoping was done but someone had to watch the three and five year old while my wife went shopping. I could not handle both at the game so I elected to stay home and played with the kids.

I try to support Miss State men sports when ever and I feel kind of guilty that I don't go see them when they are this close.

They were shooting over 50% for the season before last night. They also lost to LSU by 2 after having them beat. Not a great team, but not a bad team either. Everyone looks at the name of the school and assumes cupcake. In basketball, over the years, I've learned that isn't always true. All that said, I was happy with the win, but we still didn't play well.

I think they should rotate one game during Christmas break each year between Jackson, Biloxi, Tupelo, and Southaven, with Jackson getting a game every other year and the odd years would rotate between the other 3 cities.</p>

one year and it was just awful. We might as well have played at the YMCA.

But it couldn't have been all that much worse than the 3,000 we've drawn to Jackson the past 2 years and it's not like a game on campus would draw well during Christmas break either. If we cut back to every other year in Jackson, I bet we could get the average attendance back up closer to where it was the first few years we played down here. I suspect that one reason we play in Jackson every year is recruiting though. There are usually a lot more Div. I prospects in the Jackson area than in those other cities.

I know the opponents are not usually that interesting. However, it is pitiful State can not have more than 4K attend a game in the largest city in the state. I don't care if we play there every year. State should draw more than that.

the atmosohere isn't all that great because there are very few college students. The college guys usually get the old farts going. Plus, with an "easy opponent" there's no need to act like a complete fool, because you would have to figure that we are going to take over the game before long. And then when we do, why act even more foolish? If we played anywhere in the State, the atmosphere is going to be about the same as it was in Jackson. The other thing is a lot of people aren't really into basketball yet.

Dude, you've got to man up. I can change a dirty diaper with one hand while eating a snickers bar with the other. Drag the young pups along. If they get lost or something, they can't run far.
