Don't Knock Twice on Nflx. Terrorizing ghost comes back to get revenge.

This had some scary parts and good atmosphere for 1/2 the movie. Then it started to twist itself into a pretzel and rushed to the finish line.

The Hole In the Ground on AP.

A newly single Irish woman moves to the country-side with her son. Made by A24.

This one gets close to being really good. Good suspense and a creepy child actor. Solid flick.

Haven't seen it yet, but it's on my list. What stops it from being really good?

The Lords of Salem 🍺

Barf. Everyone's opinion here is welcome.. all except Rob Zombie Film fans. Sorry, I don't make the rules.

Midway through Creep with Mark Duplass. Started falling asleep. It's decent so far, but there's some buzz out there that this movie was near perfect. And I haven't seen why (although, Horror movies tend to have tremensdous build ups, as we know).

It's a 7 or 8. It is sticking with me a little today so that's something. I just didn't want to rank it up there with the greats.

Definitely give it a watch. It's the best I've seen thus far this month.

Watched The Open House on Nflx.

Pretty good story but left a lot of loose ends. The ending was abrupt as well. Middle of the road flick.

Mother and son must move to an interim home that is being sold while they live there.

Watched Lake Mungo, The Night Eats the World, and It Follows yesterday. First two were meh, last one was pretty good but wasn’t as a good as I had hoped it would be based on the aggregate reviews.

Started to watch Cabin Fever and realized I had seen it before.

Virus related terror in the woods. Entertaining.

Cabin Fever is interesting.. For starters, they made a sequel that is almost literally verbatim.. line for line, scene for scene. It's so ******* odd. Like the director just wanted to pay homage or something. But the original is one of the few horror movies that was genuinely funny, scary and gory. Cabin Fever is one of my favorites.

The Kid yelling pancakes and throwing karate kicks? The bowling alley massacre scene? Burt.. just being Burt? Great movie.

I think IF likely got a bit TOO much critical acclaim. I think it's great, but horror movies don't exactly set a high bar. The concept and score were very original.

Watching The Descent right now. Not sure what my nightcap will include.

I enjoyed the Descent, but I don't get why it makes people's top 10. Maybe for the claustrophobia aspect? The cannibalistic deformed creatures were seriously played out at that time. But I did like it, and the original ending.

Just finished Creep. What a fantastic movie.

Fell asleep during the 2nd viewing, trying for a 3rd tonight. Damn Bourbon.

Whoa.

I've seen the 2002 original and was starting the 2016 version but was convinced I had seen it but felt the actors weren't what I remembered.

Am I in a horror movie as we speak?

Would You Rather on Nflx.

Ridiculous premise of taking the party game to the extreme. Does have Ricky from Trailer Park Boys in it, though.

In honor of this thread I did a free trial on the Shudder channel. Pretty disappointing so far. Most of their original content that I watched was mediocre and the movies they show are a bit dated. Was hoping for more good movies from the 80's to today. I haven't finished searching through it yet so there is still hope. Not off to a good start though.

My wife and I are on an 80s horror movie kick and we've been looking for ones we haven't seen before.

Last night we watched "Bloody Birthday" and we both liked it.

It's about 3 kids who were all born the same day during an eclipse. When they are 10 years old they start killing people.

It's a lower budget movie but like I said, we both liked it.

The 80s is 30-40 years ago. CGI was still in its infancy at that point. How is that not dated?

Creep.. meh. I'm not a huge fan of the Found-Footage movies, and this one didn't change that. For those to work, for me at least, it needs to feel realistic. If you're going to pass this off as something truly "found" than I shouldn't have to wonder why the camera is the main character's "view point" and not his own eyes. Too many instances of this. Too many jump scares that shouldn't have happened. Too many dumb decisions and things that didn't make sense.

Blair Witch and Paranormal Activity did a much better job of this, and it's why those are some of the better found footage movies.

I didn't hate it, I loved the final scare. But it was sorta throw-away for me.

Watching 1980 Prom Night w/ Jamie Lee Curtis and Leslie Nielsen on Pluto.

Classic slasher stuff. "I Know What You Did Last Summer" storyline, queen of scream, Frank Drebin, questionable acting, awesome 80's style, and an extended disco scene. It's slow but nostalgic.

Prom Night II has nothing to do with PN I but is also excellently campy.

Finally got around to watching Mother!.. I can see why it split critics. On one hand it was very artistic and poetic in nature. Like watching an old fable. On the other, the message was typical of Hollywood. Religion bad, we're destroying the earth, etc etc etc.

Felt more like a lecture than a horror movie, and a little too on-the-nose.

Watched "Secret Window" night before last. Johnny Depp was pretty damn good. pretty slow burn, but overall a good flick.

"Green Room" last night, ok, not the best but I sat thru the whole movie so decent. Would not watch again, but it kept me into it.

"As Above, So Below" was really good the first 2/3 of it, ending just **** all over the movie and what good it had going for it.

Just watched Hagazussa. As speaking of earlier, if you don't like arthouse, don't watch. Its basically the vvitch but in 15th century Germany. Beautifully shot, atmospheric, slow burn. The director tho leaves it up to your interpretation and apparently it helps if you know germanic folklore

Just found a decent scifi/horror movie on Hulu called Devil's Gate. Figured I would bring this thread back up in case anyone is interested.
