Corvallis and the aforementioned Tallahassee are also hosts

I think Clemson and Conway are outside shots for MSU to travel to…

I’m just ready for something a little different. But at the end of the day it’s all gravy from here after being 1-8 then 7-14.

I'm thinking it might be Conway. Send them an SEC team just to make them prove a little something. Not that they haven't done that in spades with one of the more unlikely natty's in history. There or one of the Oregons. Who the hell knows??

Let's go get this over with or get on a tear and win the whole thing. Lose early, move along and get the hire done ASAP! Don't let us down Selmon!
Personally, I'd rather lose in a super or in Omaha than lose in the regional, even if we don't win the whole thing.

Not for me. I thought 14 were pretty well locked with UCLA and Southern the two questions and they were among 6 or so I thought could host. Nothing like that Arizona BS last year.
I think TCU should have hosted over USM. But otherwise about what I’d expect.

USM beat them head to head. Not that that matters based on these committees actions but I'd say USM deserved it.

We all know USM doesn't deserve a host bid but you've got the DEI equivalent going on trying to prop up these terrible conferences and teams. The NCAA is worthless, and we all know that too.

Did LSU play themselves out of a top-8 seed? Five SEC teams are locks for top-8 seeds. Are they going to put a sixth SEC team in the top 8 with the #10 RPI?

If so, do they put LSU, Tennessee, and Ole Miss across from other SEC teams in the super round?

The best-case scenario is that they send us to Hattiesburg, not paired with an SEC regional.

They won’t give SEC 6 top 8 seeds. 5 max. LSU 10 RPI. No way they get a top 8 seeds
USM has a 20 RPI and got a regional. Politics matter and LSU has it. JMO based on how these things have been going.

3 baseball programs in Mississippi. 2 hosting regionals. 1 is traveling.

SEC gets half of the 16 host sites. And 5 of the top 8?

State just happy to be included

The crazy thing is that the NCAA doesn’t do this in any other sport except college baseball. Seriously….does anyone think if that its those same teams competing for a Top 16 spot, except change the sport to football (for 16-team CFP), or basketball (for Top 4 NCAA tourney seed) that this nonsense would stand?

Hell, even in 17ing softball, they give the bids on straight merit. In 2024 there were 10 current SEC teams hosting, because that’s how many were in the Top 16 teams. In 2025, there were 9 actual SEC teams hosting. They don’t even do this affirmative action crap there, in an even less visible sport.

Softball is the same way. It's why OM got a higher seed than us after finishing three spots behind us and losing to us.

We have more Q1 wins than they do. And they have 5 Q4 losses.

That's more a function of our respective conferences than the quality of the team IMO. I'm not impressed with our 8-17 Q1 record vs their 7-5 record.
