How many times have we built an early 8-10 point lead and then lost?

MSU at Breslin we were up 12.
Nebraska we were up 8 I think.
Michigan at home we were up I believe 13.
Purdue in the BTT I believe we were up 10.
Tonight we opened the game 14-4.

What gives.

Scoring droughts usually. Tonight the opponent just refused to miss.

We honestly just weren't that good this year.

Honestly after losing Ron and Geo, I thought it would be a rebuilding year.

What gives? We have no bench. Sometimes Pike's substitution patterns early on are headscratchers and allow the other team to get back into it. The problem tonight is Hofstra was hot once they matched us and stayed hot the rest of the way. I too hate that we so easily give up decent leads, but that's basketball. It's a game of runs and when it happens against you, it obviously stinks like tonight.

My guess is the team comes out with a plan to start the game and when they execute it well, they start with a nice run. The rest of the game either our lack of depth kills us or the teams lack of offensive playmakers who can create on the fly kills us. Simpson may get there but none of the others can create points. Hopefully Gavin is a good enough to overcome that issue.
