Hotel Lancaster gives pretty good deals and is downtown. Kemah and Clear Lake area also has several options. I would stay away from hotels by the airports as they are in ****** parts of town. For an unique experience, stay at the Inn at the Ballpark...Baseball themed and walking distance of a ton of bars and restaurants.

Hotel Derek- Two blocks from the huge galleria mall and all the shopping/restaurants you can imagine. Great hotel. This is the one I used for my wedding this summer and everyone loved it. Might be a little too pricey, depending on your budget. 15 minute drive to U of H campus.

Hotel Zsa Zsa - Another very nice hotel. Right next to Hermann Park/Zoo/Museum District. If you have young kids (under 10'ish)stay here. The children's museum is great... as well as the zoo or a stroll through Hermann Park. Weathershould be PERFECTfor the game, if the averages hit. Again, may be a little pricey. 10 minute drive to U of H campus.

And whoever said stay away from the airports- listen to them.

It's a nice hotel and within walking distance or a very short cab ride to the stadium. Rice Village is right there too with some good shopping and nice bars for the college crowd. Herman park, the Zoo, Natural Science Museum and IMAX are also right there if you have kids.

Second, nice avatar.<div>
</div><div>The Rice Village area is very nice. As far as Hotels in Houston I wouldrecommend three: Inn At The Ballpark (Vick and Anthony's next door is incredible), Hotel ZaZa and Hotel Icon.</div><div>

There is no way in hell I would try to drive back to Dallas following a night game. 45 from downtown to north of Conroe is Death Race 2000 fueled with booze. There are more alcohol related accidents on thatpart of45 then anywhere in the US. Plus they serve beer in their stadium....

I stayed there just last year. It wasn't a 5* hotel but I had no complaints what so ever about my stay. It was one of the cheaper hotels in the area at the time and was a short walk of where I had to go. I enjoyed my stay.

Thanks on the avatar. she caught my eye so I thought I'd share.

Go to Washington Avenue in the Heights. Along Washington, there are SEVERAL bars that will all be packed. Start with dinner at El Tiempo on the west end of Washington... then make your way back east and make stops at Eight, Pearl Bar, Sawyer Park, Rebels Honky Tonk, Taps... and the likes. That's a very, very talented part of town.

Take the hardy toll road from 610. It puts you on 45 just south of the woodlands.

For the guy from Dallas, when you leave he game, hit 59 north out of downtown. You'll pass enron on your left. Then take 610w and first exit is hardy toll road north to 45. Trust me. I wouldn't want to drive all the way to Dallas, but that way isn't bad.

Mine are $45 a piece. Does UH usually charge this much? Or is it just for schools like TTU and MSU?
