Hotel in downtown Memphis...

Looking for a hotel in downtown Memphis (FedEx Forum area - during non-NBA playoff timeframe) that is safe, nice and relatively inexpensive. Looking for something within walking distance to FedEx Forum. Any suggestions?

Doubletree I believe is right across the street from autozone. There are plenty to choose from though. Just look through all of the Hilton and Marriot properties

Of course, it won't be cheap.

I've stayed there and liked it. It's new (or it was a few years ago), and one of the closest if not the closest hotel to Beale Street and the FedEx Forum.

The Holiday Day Inn is old and overpriced. The Hampton Inn is your best bet but you will not find anything cheap in downtown Memphis. Option two: Book the Drury Inn ( free beer) or any other hotel near interstate 55 in South Haven/ Horn Lake for around $100 a night and it's only a 10 minute drive from downtown and your money stays in Mississippi.
