He's like a 19th

century snake oil salesman. The fine folks of the southeast are on to his charade, so he'll move along to another geography to perpetrate his fraud.

If he gets a job, and puts everything into it, he will win.....

....not sure why anyone would think differently.

He's good for 2-3 decent to good years before the eventual implosion. Dude has zero sustaining power. It's like he completely loses interest.

At Ole Miss, he was constantly looking to jump ship. I think he knew the talent they had there when he took the job, and wanted to parlay that into Auburn or a bigger gig. Finebaum reported this, and while he's not the best game analyst, he knows the coaching drama. But there again, Nutt had a history at Arkansas of valleys and peaks, but the peaks were longer. So like I say, if he goes in with the correct mindset, at a school where he can get talent, he could be very successful.

Zero sustaining power? He had 10 good seasons at Arkansas and won 18 games in his last 2 years there. He's not a great coach, but he's pretty good.

I guess I was speaking about consistency. His success was more in the Sherrill mold. Very erratic and not sustained consistently.

When has anyone ever won consistently at one of the 6 (now 7 or 8) lower division schools in the SEC? Spurrier and maybe Cutcliffe. That's about it.

Perhaps James Franklin. I see your point, but I have a hard time putting Arky in that lower tier.

Franklin hasn't been there long enough to do anything consistently. He won't win consistently at Vandy, that's for sure. This is the first time he's ever won more than 6 regular season games there.
