UK is a Final Four caliber team when Butler, Williams, and Robinson are dialed in.

Butler was great hitting all those threes. Would probably have been a loss without him.

The "woulda" category should probably also include the fact that Louisville usually doesn't hit 14 three pointers.
I think we really took their best shot. We should give them credit. Depleted roster and they battled until the end. But, in reality, the game was never truly in jeopardy.

As my long since gone Dad would say, my a#$ could have opened a coke bottle. Love it. This time last year I was ready to binge watch Mountain Men on game day.
His name will forever be mentioned , and his terrific game remembered, in the annals of this storied, albeit one sided lol, rivalry.
We have to play Butler as many minutes as we can while Kerr is out. I don't think we can afford to give a lot of minutes to Perry. Would like to just see us switch solely to Jaxson at the 1 when Butler has to come off the court.

Guy is cementing himself into NCAA legend! First helping lead his team to a title game and hitting the final four shot to go to the Title game and now 33 pts , perfect shooting outside of FT's in the UK / UL rivalry game. Mother Trucking Butler !!!
So much of it is about matchups. We beat Gonzaga (much better team than UL) without Butler, yet would never have won this game today without him. The reason? Hepburn was just a bad matchup for the Jax/Perry combo.
Got to give it up to Louisville they gave it their all. Imo these types of games enable our growth as a team. 10-1 baby!

Having a PG who is a consistent threat beyond the arc, which Butler clearly seems to have become, makes a world of difference. Makes it hard for the defense to cheat. Makes it easier for other players to find scoring opportunities. Cures a lot of ills when other things might not be clicking.
Now he is gonna be the one writing future Cats about how to play in the game.
Their team fights, they will win a lot of ACC games.
He won't be perfect all the time but having him just controlling the offense and defense is so fun to watch. Love he got through this without aggravating it and now has a week to recover from his 1st game back.

Butler was incredible out there. Didn’t even know if he would be able to play and turns in an all-time performance against the Cards. Wow.
Butler has exceeded my expectations. I had a feeling he would be good...but he wasn't exactly known as a big time offensive player before coming here. But man he has really taken a huge step on offense under Popes system.
