Alomar is paying for the spitting incident. There really isn't any other explanation.
Larkin is paying for his lack of durability. When he played he was great.
I really don't have a problem with them not being first ballot guys. They will both get in within the next three years max. Now, I also think it is dumb that that's how some of the BBWA vote.....is he a first ballot guy. Either he is a HOFer or he is not. There's no "first ballot" wing in Cooperstown.

only reason I can come up with would be for Alomar, that some writers are still holding that spitting incident against him. It doesn't take much for some of those guys to vote "no" next to your name, especially when its your first time on the ballot.</p>
