Last report I heard the Tornado Warning was until 4 am. Also hearing minor damage at trailer parks. Kosciusko and Yazoo City got hit really hard....again.

I live on Montgomery Street and the winds definitely got really strong at one point, and I could see greenish blue explosions and I figured some transformers were blowing up or something. The thought of a tornado crossed my mind as I was standing on my porch and I got nervous for a second. My friend who lives on the other side of 12 on Montgomery texted me and told me powerlines were down by Abners so that was the explosions I saw I guess, and also damage to the BP. Literally I'm like 150yds from the BP and I dunno what type of damage it got, but nothing here. The trees did look like they were about to snap though.

And to me it wasn'tthat bad. We had some strong winds and heavy rain for about 15min. Also have had lightning/thunder for a while and still going on every now and then. Never saw any hail.

That would have caused some serious damage. I have not heard any reports from the weather service of wind that strong in the Starkville area.

Hate to hear that about the lower branch of the tree in the junction...not surprising though.
Hope the basketball IPF didnt get hit too bad being as it is under construction still and not fully enclosed.

tree barely fell on a truck, took off it's side mirror and my truck was across the street and power lines are hanging over it. The transformer exploded in a huge green flash and bang.

Oktibbeha: Several homes damaged and minor injuries reported. Trees and power lines down throughout the county.

Does anybody know if the injuries were in the Pines? Where is that place?

Guitar, it was way longer than 15min. My front yard had 8 inches of rain in it. Literally it was like a river in my front yard. Glad my house is built up off the ground or our house woulda had major flooding.

This person did damage assessment at the Pines last night and said no one was truly hurt, thank God. Also said about 20 people had to be housed in a hotel afterwards, and that most of the college students in the Pines had abandoned their trailers for the nearby gas station when the weather started getting bad.

I imagine that moving to the solid structure helped keep injuries down. The Pines is across from/nearby to SHS.
