Huge win. Maybe we've found ourselves a couple of pitchers for the weekends.

Wait Now!

Cohen said this past weekend, when Woodruff can learn to consistently throw strikes, that he has a chance to be special.
He has the pitches, and the athleticism.

Hope he gets there.

Consistenty pitching is not something that you can learn , you either have it or you don't.

You can develop consistency. That is actually extremely rare to be born with that talent- it's something you develop through repetition. Confidence and practice. That's one of the big things pitchers work on.

Woody can definitely be great. Just needs to get more confident, learn to take control and keep it.

I hope Woodruff gets there too but it needs to be against midweek teams or in blow out mop up duty until he does. His ERA is skyrocketing lately. He has had ample opportunity and I think some of the other pitchers deserve a shot.

But who knows? I probably said the same about Girodo this time last year.

I don't disagree, but I really can't think of one pitcher that was just born being consistent. It's developed. Some may be a little more natural at it, but it's something everybody works on.

Woody has loads of potential, always had confidence issues. That was known going in. Personally, I would have had him doing midweek stuff earlier to build confidence, but hard to blame the coaches for going to him after a decent outing at LSU. The junk with people thinking he does better piggybacking off of the starter isn't true- coming in the 3/4 is not much different from starting- same mentality. I'd just give him games where he can work on his stuff and try things out.

Well, when Woodruff can learn to consistently throw strikes, he can start to get some innings again. But until then, he doesn't need to be out there. I hope he gets there too.

Sitting and waiting on "the one guy" to show up for work.
This would not be fun if he wasn't such a pain in the *** when OM beats us (in anything).
Great atmosphere last night.
Somebody needs to educate the concession workers how to pour a beer though.
