The language in Petrino's contract specifically stated that notification of dismissal must be done in writing. The AD did such in order to follow the terms of the contract.

Just one day after telling Arthur Blank that he wasn't going nowhere, he taped a 78 word printed note to every locker in the locker room. That's how Petrino left Atlanta (with 3 games left in the season).

Petrino is a huge piece of **** and deserves just about anything that comes his way.</p>

I agree with that missouridawg. It is ironic and funny. However, some of the media is portraying the Arkansas AD as having some kind of hidden agenda by doing it in writing, which isn't true.

As for the notice of termination being in writing, how the hell else does anyone think you notify someone that they're being fired? Of course it was in writing.

Also even if that's the case you can still call the guy and let him know what is going on. I could see it this way. "We are going to let you go. You will have the official letter soon. We are calling a press conference at this time."

Don't get me wrong I hope they did it in the most heartless way available. I can't stand the Bastard.
