From posters on Genespage talking about "another board"

like SPS was the "board that shall not be named" Lord Voldemort style.

Been reading since 2005 and started posting in 2009. You can see by my 276 posts that I still dont know **** and have zero "sources".

Was hanging out at a friend's place in Starkville in '04 and saw SPS open on his laptop. I was nosy and browsed through some of the topics. Started lurking on my own shortly thereafter, but it also two years before I got around to creating a username and posting my own.

During the 2003 football season, I acquired a football autographed by King Jackie. While I love Jackie, I felt that he stuck around a little longer than he should have. I didn't blame him for that....I blamed LT more for inactivity. In fact, I really despised all things LT. Anyway, I made a comment to a friend about taking that football, shoving that sumbitch sideways, and sticking it straight up LT's candy *** (in classic Rock style). My friend told me that the pack was the place for me. Been here ever since. Was approaching 10K posts on the old site but the job has been keeping me down lately. The memes keep me coming back, like 17, Urban Meyer (sp), germans, the pot/kettle pic, and of course, our tribute to Chris Jericho (aGAIN).

Original 48. He asked me if I liked Jeans page, and I replied I hate it. He then said I have a new board for you. 9 years later and 32 new asthma inhalers later ( laughing too hard triggers an asthma attack) I am still wasting my work days here.

Fall of 2004 - a friend kept emailing me the "WTF of the day" links

They were funny, so I asked him where the hell he was finding these, and he said "six pack". I had to check it out. The "WTF of the day"s were being posted by willi13 (I think). After browsing around for a few weeks I was hooked, but I admit that the lingo and inside jokes were confusing as **** at first, almost to the point of me not returning. But I eventually caught on and got the balls to sign up and post around '05 or '06, can't remember.

I was taking a dump at the Exxon in Mathiston on the way home from the Maine game...when i looked up and saw "Swindoll and Rosebowl doesn't want you to see this: sixpackspeak.com"
I was curious at that point so I looked it up and from henceforth I have read and posted on the pack

I was in the library with Bcash at some point in 2007 "studying"

when he showed me the board. The first post I saw was the Croom with a walrus face. I got zero studying done and browsed the board for a while. Now I'm at work getting zero work done and browsing the board.

Very thankful to Bcash for showing me.

Sometime around 2003 a Bulldog co-worker pulled up the AOTD post (I think it was called) and put me onto SixPack. As a Rebel, I enjoy the SixPack because there's usually good threads on many different topics....hell, even the anti-OM topics are interesting most times. Anyways, glad to be here, thanks for letting me hang out.

I remember right when the board

was created, in 2003, they were always bitching about it on gene's. I clicked the link that someone posted on there (before it was deleted) and have been here since. I guess I was 19 at the time so I fit in over here, not so much with the old timers on gene's page.

A "Bear at work" told me about it.

Actually, a dawg at work told me, but you never hear of a good "Dawg at work" story so i embellished.

A friend of mine told me about Gene's Page. I'd never heard of it. I thought it was a cool concept until he told me you had to subscribe. I said, "That's dumb, I shouldn't have to pay to read a message board." He said, and I quote, "Oh, where there's another board and it's free. It's called sixpackspeak, but it's mostly just jackasses who got kicked from Gene's Page." I knew right then I was home.

I've always been a one message board kind of guy. Have no idea how I found it but around 2004 after I graduated from state & started working (which meant I had more time than ever before in my life to stare at a computer screen each day) I stumbled upon the original "Mississippi Sports Talk" message board. I also ran across SPS about that same time but chose to go with MST.

About 2 years later MST moved to the Scout network (now Scout's Mississippi High School page) which I thought was about as successful as BDJ merging with Rivals. I was also changing jobs at the time and was unsure of the "internet at work" policy. After my new manager called me into his office to read an argument on GP, I knew I had the green light. Tried GP for about a year until I got banned. I had read this site off & on since MST moved and finally started posting sometime in 08.

MadDawg's *** of the Day

I was a normal poster on Gene's Page when a friend told me he had switched to SixPack, and I should, too. Unconvinced, I came over and the first thread I saw was MadDawg's *** of the Day. I started coming back to the site just to see those threads, until I finally started reading the other stuff. Haven't read or paid for Gene's Page since 2006.

Same thing happened to me ...

Got a PM at Gene's that said something to the effect of "Hey, you should check out this new message board. I think you would fit in better over there." For the life of me, I can't remember who it was. If you forced me to choose someone, I would say NewYorkOperaDog, but that may just be my mind playing tricks on me. I do know this. I can take credit for Brutius being here. You're welcome.

Got a PM on Genespage when I was having alively 'exchange.' Likewise, don't remember who it came from.

My main problem with SP over the years has been access at work. It comes and goes but has been good for the last 2+ years since relocating.

I found the site during the Texas A&M game this year. I Googled "Fire Chris Wilson MSU" and the first link was to this site! I have visited everyday since but just signed up to post to this thread.

Don't have a fun story. Hatfieldms told me about it when we were discussing State on a music board we used to frequent.

Many hours lost since. Thanks a lot Hat**

I was feeling "curious" one evening after the wife and kid went to bed... GIS "enlarged clitoris" and this pic came up
. After some confusing feelings I started reading and decided, along with not being gay (not that there is anything wrong with that) that Id hang around.

Seriously...
I was on GP... Summer 2003... Someone posted a link to a website that was breaking what the new "classic" unis looked like. The link didnt last long, but I clicked it before the thread was deleted. The uni sucked but the site was pretty damn good. One of my first posts was of a pic of a woman shaving a beaver and I asked if this offended anyone (as that same pic got me banned once from GP). No one cared and I found my home.

/Long live the shaved beaver!

Cowpower (Costanza) told me about it after a dust-up on the Bulldogs Only Bulletin Board. I locked horns with some of the regulars there and I needed some relief. I found this place and got anything but.

2008 was the year

And it was helluva ride! Dips and valleys like no year I ever.

2008 started with my wife of 28 years passing away one late night in February and ended with me loosing the majority of my money that I had invested. It was a tough year.

I solicited my tech savy son-in-law to help me purchase a laptop with internet access around May of 2008 but I was probably to dazed to get the exact month correct.

I surfed around at night in a drunken stupor from time to time.

An old retired friend of mine showed up one day at work. Surprisingly, I hadn't missed a day of work all year even after drinking myself to sleep almost every night.

He wanted me to call this number and ask this lady out. I refused but he left the number anyway. A week later, I pulled the number out and called it.

We met for lunch at Harvee's and the date spilled over into the afternoon with us walking around the campus at Starkville. Sometime later that year, her son turned me on to SPS. He was a student at the time. I remember him getting toasted and yelling Palin/McCain after one of the few victories that year or was it the next. I forget, I stayed drunk a lot during that time.

That first year or so there was a lot of drunk posting from me but lately, not so much. I still lurk and even post from time to time but rarely is there any drunk posting involved. I am now married to that lady and I am enjoying life! Life is good, you just have to find your own way to love it.

Oh, I need to tell someone. I shot a 71 saturday! Not bad for a 15 handicapper!!!! It was the best round in years for me.

My join date says Jan 2010? Man, 2008 really stung... I must have been drunk more than I thought.

My 70 year old mother (at the time) told me about it when I was asking about an alternative to Gene's premium site. She said "those guys on that site have all the info before he does anyway..."

I have not looked back.

I'm certainly not the most creative nor interesting story teller...

but for high school graduation (as a gift), I got the premium subscription to Gene's, so I could be "in the know." I probably read the site twice. During summer school the following summer, we were preparing to go to a Regional in Tallahassee after an abysmal 2 and done in Birmingham.

I googled a few key words about our regional and google took me to SPS. I found some of the content interesting since it was mostly bitching about Crxxms, Stansbury, and LT (even in May/June). I followed as we tore through the Tallahassee regional and continued to find the content interesting, until IT happened. A lonely fella with the handle pjs1087 stopped by to tell us all about his Pontiac and how classy Clemson fans were. From that day forward, I was hooked. Have not frequented another board since. Since then, we've learned all about daffodils, walrus', how to finish a football game with a score of 3-2, and all you care to know about scientology. It's been a fun ride.

I lurked for several years before making my first post (right before the fight in the stands). I guess you could say for a while, I only had an interest in reading. I also remember a time that making a first post, whether it was loud and proud, perhaps a declaration of how happy you are to be here and how long you've owned your cowbell, or simply a modest insert into a long thread, would immediately result in being drug through the coals by asshat-ry and douchebagness that cannot be compared to.

I was sitting at home browsing Genespage and thought, what the hell, I need a good harassing, name-calling, good cussing right now. Made my way to the "heathen board" and found all kind of vile about Mississippi State Sports. I thought, what a bunch of dumbasses and became an "Avid Reader" of the board without posting at the beginning. Monitoring the daily activity here I would report back to the intelligence group after work. I was obsessed with taking down the "Big 6" and on the way was called every name in the book and attacked personally by some of the members here. Yet I maintained that I would continue forward and swat away this bunch of gnats. I even had top secret pictures of the group of 6 sitting on the short bus that I would one day use to expose them to the Bulldog world. During that same regional when the top secret pictures were secured, I stumbled across the recruiting accountant where I introduced my son and during the conversation he told my son that I was a "troublemaker" on his board but he was going to let me stay. Not in front of my son, but later, I told Gene where he could stick his abacus and never returned to that **** hole. Made friends with DS and found out that he wasn't a bad guy at all. Can't say that I have personally met any of them but sooner or later you learn to respect their opinions that are often different than mine. Was married to a coach at that time so the coach bashing hit many nerves but growing a thicker skin helped cure that problem. This is my "primary" message board now and I have learned to live with all the **** that goes on here considering all the good stuff you can find by reading. I can't wait until June again when I will be honored during "Avid Reader Day", a day of wonderful stories and accomplishments from MSU fans I have never met. I think this will be the 9th or 10th anniversary for my special day. For those disappointed last year, I will not hack the board this year so that you can share all your stories about me. I has gone from a day of personal attacks to a fun day for the old timers who are still around and I'm honored to know so many people love me on SPS. ***

Seriously though, I do visit this board many times daily and share stuff often that I think might be of interest to the readers. Great place to find out what you need to know about MSU sports. I do subscribe to 247 as Paul is a good friend and I support him.

This is a mirror image of how I found out. Cant remember what exact year but I was actually drinking a beer with DAWG61 and making fun of a recruit being discussed on Swan Lake. He said, have you read the SixPack? The first thread popped up and low and behold, it was about DD. Ive never laughed so hard. Ive read the board for a looong time but decided to join last year. I look forward to putting some names with some faces this fall. Good times and many lonely boring nights have been spent on this site. I only wish I would have joined earlier.
