When the dawgzillatron posed the question "what was MSU's best athletic accomplishment" with multiple choice including 1985 baseball, 1998 SEC West football champs, 1996 NCAA Final 4.......... I yelled out 1941!!!!!! and everybody around laughed and looked at me like they knew exactly what I was talking about

Do that crap question against Jackson St. or Houston, not a 3 time football and 2 time basketball national champion school.

None of the options were any sort of actual title or championship. They were all accomplishments that resulted ina loss.

I'm thinking the options should have probably been 6-3, beating Kentucky in the '96 SEC Tournament, and maybe winning the '98 West Title.

and they laughed when our highest ever attendance was only 57,000. They also spent a bit of time ragging on our stadium. Not that these things aren't true, but 17 them anyway.

What's amazing is that most of UF's accomplishments in any sports have happened in the past 20 years. They were really pretty average in most sports before 1990.

No lie. I thought the cold had scared them all away, but walking down the ramp after the game I spotted one. It made me feel a little better after the loss. Turned out to be a nice guy though. Talked about how much they missed Mullen and how we were going to be a contender in a couple of years. Almost felt bad for mocking his jorts. Almost.

I have never seen so many fans in jerseys though. At least half of the grown male Gator fans at the game had to have been wearing a #15 jersey. I laughed all afternoon.

But the Gator fans near me weren't saying **** when we tied it at 13. At the end of the game all the Gatas coming down the ramps had that, "thank God we pulled that out" look on their faces.

And there was no more chuckling after Banks ran that INT back. They just seemed happy to escape. And despite the large number of Gator "fans" at the game, I don't remember hearing much from any of them. All I remember is the sound of cowbells.

but like others mentioned, that was a moronic question choice for the Florida game. All the Gator fans in their National Championship gear (from two sports, this decade) sitting around watching us decide if our 2nd place finish, our 3rd place finish, or our 4th place finish was our greatest accomplishment of all time.

Ran into a group of said "Florida Fan" at the upper deck home side men's restroom. These particular UF fans were decked out in some gosh awful orange windbreakers and I believe one was wearing some variance of a Tebow Jersey. Some young, nice State Alum looked at him and said "Hey, glad ya'll could make the trip/hope you are having a good time/great game BS." Then he said something to the effect of "how long was the trip?"....

Said Florida "fans": "Oh, We're from Laurel."
Nice young State Alum: "Oh, you went to Florida though?"
Florida "fans": No, we didn't go there, we just like Flarda. Always have. Always been die hard fans.

At this point, some State guy coming out of the *******, who has heard this entire exchange walks by and pretty much sums the whole thing up "17ing Losers."
