How many points do we need to score to beat BAMA?

Bama averages 40, but they could have pumped the breaks in a couple of games, so who knows what the real average is.

Their D is so good, we probably won't be able to get into the high 20s. Can we get to 20?

The optimal game would be if we could hold the ball forever, like against Tenn.

I'm gonna say we can win with 27. That would be far more than everyone has been scoring on them.

Two games every year I pre-medicate w/beta blockers before watching

UK in hoops and Bama in football. The SEC corporate masters do not want us to win either one of those and I go into both games with absolutely zero expectations.

I don't see us putting more than 17 on the board. So we've got to get turnovers and force other mistakes on defense in order to keep it within reach. Just get to the 4th quarter with a chance, baby.

I admit that I am stretching thinking 27.

I'd love to know the gameplan for this one. I'm having a hard time figuring out what I would try to do to win from a 30K feet perspective.

If Bama has a turnover or two and plays sloppy, 27 could be enough... Our average would be in the 60+s if Our Dark Lord weren't so merciful.

I say about 35 would be needed to win. I think we can do slightly better on D than UM was able to do (33), but I don't know that we'll be able to score more than 17 on them. The ball would really have to bounce our way that night.

I honestly don't think we win without an outstanding defensive performance. We won't win if we give up more than 20.

I'm going with 24.

Because our defense is going to have to play damn good to win this game. We better not need a lot of points.

What we score is not what concerns me.

Our biggest challenge would be stopping their run game. Our DL is playing well most of the time but we have had trouble against the run at times and they are a beast up front on the OL. It would take a lot of ifs to win that game.

If McCarron had a bad game
If our CB could play man and let our safeties cheat up for the run.
If our DL played awesome.
IF we could keep our takeaways going in that game to set our offense up for some short field scores.

I think we would have just enough offense against that D to get close to winning.

On paper we definitely do not have the talent level they do across the board but you never know what might happen in college football on one given night.

If we win it will be because Banks and Slay can play man up effectively allowing 9 men in the box to shut down the run. I really think our D will hold Bama to less than we gave up against Tennessee, but our O definitely won't score as much. Kind of like last year

If we can sell out against the run and manage to slow it down, we have a chance. Bama's passing game is not incredible. I think we can win this game. We're about due for a win over the Crimson Tide.

Ever how many it takes, and we don't take our foot off the gas no matter how far ahead we get

Since we have only scored 20 points total in the last three games...

(under Mullen) v Bama, we will need 31 or more points to win.

I think 24 is the magic number and the thing that gives me hope is knowing our offense is good enough to flip field position this year. In years past we would battle but slowly lose field position and eventually that would lead to a Bama score. This year I think we can consistently pick up a first down or two on most drives. We will put 8 in the box and force McCarron to beat us. Hopefully that leads to an interception or two.
