How many schools have made the sweet 16 since we last made it?

I remember a few years ago before Notre Dame won like the aloha bowl or some dumb ****** bowl like that, that there was a list of D1 schools that had won bowl games since the last time Notre Dame had won a bowl. It was a list of over 100 schools (M-State included).

I'm curious to see how many have made the sweet 16 since the last time we did.

Can one of our stat guys look into this?

i can give you the stats of the different final 4 teams. sorry im not an expert stat guy to be able to include all sweet 16 teams.

32 different teams have made the final four since 1996
20 of them have only made it once
North Carolina and Michigan St lead with 6 appearances
Followed by UCONN and Duke with 4 - Kentucky, Florida, Kansas, and UCLA with 3 - Ohio St, Arizona, Maryland, and Butler with 2.
